The overarching map in AFK Journey feels boundless, with plenty of places to explore and new enemies to wipe out. But one area seems to stump some people: Dark Forest 5. The Island looks like a mystery, one that can be tough to solve because some can’t get there. Thankfully, unlocking Dark Forest 5 Island in AFK Journey isn’t as complicated as it appears. But it will take time and plenty of leveling up of your allies and AFK Stages. So, buckle in and prepare to enjoy the adventure.
Unlocking Dark Forest 5 Island
As you frolic around AFK Journey, merrily helping people and destroying any enemy, you’ll eventually glimpse a dark, blocked-off Island known as Dark Forest 5. And if you haven’t noticed it, you haven’t reached the general Dark Forest area yet. It’s inaccessible until you complete the “Merlin’s ‘Ward'” chapter.
You’ll need to travel to unlock access to several sections, one of them being the Dark Forest 5 Island. If you want to reach the entire area, follow the main storyline. It’s tempting to enjoy the extra perks in AFK Journey to score more rewards like the timed events and additional game modes. But you can’t forget about the main story.
Note that you’ll have to play through quite a bit of AFK Journey to gain full access to Dark Forest 5 Island because you first must get through Dark Forest 7.
Dark Forest 7 Connection
Dark Forest 7 has an interesting connection to Dark Forest 5 Island in AFK Journey. About halfway through, as you focus on the Lucent Lament storyline, you’ll nab two artifacts:
- Starshard Spell
- Ironwall Spell
This is how you know you’re on the right track. Following the story until you have both artifacts ensures you naturally move into the right area where you’re on the side to unlock the blocked bridge into Dark Forest 5. With full access, you can freely explore and aim for that 100% completion.
