Every vampire needs some undead threads. The more stylish the clothing (and stronger the armor), the rarer its ingredients. Ghost Shrooms are essential for crafting Ghost Yarn, which you’ll need for a variety of protective items. How exactly do you weave clothing out of a mushroom? Better not to think about it. If you want to brave the countryside and the sun in Dawnthorn Armor, you’ll need to go mushroom picking. That’s a little more Stardew Valley than you’d expect from an immortal bloodsucker, but V Rising is full of surprises. Here’s how to get (and use) Ghost Shrooms in V Rising.
V Rising Ghost Shrooms Guide
(Updated on May 17th, 2024 – updated images and streamlined collection steps)
The easiest way to acquire Ghost Shrooms is to grow your own. Hopefully, you have a green thumb (or at least a pale vampiric one that’s ready to garden). Here’s what you need to get Ghost Shrooms in V Rising:
- Build a Growing Plot at your castle
- Purchase Ghost Shroom Spores from the City Herb & Potion Vendor in Silverlight Hills using Goldsun Coins
- Alternatively, harvest the Spores from Ghost Shroom Patches and cocoons in the Spider Cave
- Plant the Ghost Shroom Spores in the Growing Plot
- Harvest the Ghost Shrooms once they’ve matured
If you want to farm Ghost Shrooms instead, you can do so in the Cursed Forest villages (pictured above). Otherwise, you’ll need to battle Beatrice the Tailor and Ungora the Spider Queen. Ungora drops the Ghost Yarn crafting recipe, so if you want to produce your own threads, you’ve got one big arachnid to stomp. Beatrice, in turn, drops the recipe for the Loom and Cotton Yarn, both of which you’ll need. Use the Blood Altar in your castle to track down this crafty boss.
How to Craft and Use Ghost Yarn
Once you’ve obtained some Ghost Shrooms, you’ll need a Loom to use them. You can build one at your castle and craft Ghost Yarn using the following ingredients:
Item | Ingredients |
Loom | Copper Ingots x12 Planks x20 Wool Threads x4 |
Ghost Yarn | Cotton Yarn x4 Ghost Shrooms x8 |
With Ghost Yarn in hand, you’re now ready to craft some high-tier protective items from the comfort of your creepy castle. That sure beats SPF 50 for keeping a vampire safe.
V Rising is available on PC.
