Traveling through the world of Palia, you have to collect many different materials, but getting some of them is more problematic than it seems at first glance. Thus, when you first arrive in the Bahari Bay area, you will get confused and think the game has put you on a dead end. Of course, mining Iron will be an easy task, but what if even the Standard Ax cannot effectively chop Heartwood? Luckily, all you have to do is find the specific trees to get Heartwood in Palia, and we’ll help you with that.

As we said, to get Heartwood in Palia, you can cut down any trees in the Bahari Bay area, but it is relatively hard to do. Your Makeshift Axe is useless in this area, and the Standard Axe breaks faster than you cut down even one tree. At the same time, you will need Heartwood for the next Fine Ax upgrade, which puts you in a dead end. But really, all you need to do is find small, glowing trees.

Glowing trees are much smaller than other trees in the area and rarely exceed the player’s size. In addition, these trees are rare and often hide behind giant tree trunks. You’ll have to look for them, but you can chop them down with the Standard Axe and get some Heartwood. Ultimately, it comes down to the fact that you need to wander around the Bahari Bay area for a while to accumulate 20x Heartwood and refine them into Planks on the Sawmill. That allows you to create a Fine Ax that can easily cope with any trees in this location.

If you still use Makeshift Ax, you only need to upgrade your Woodcutting Skill to Level 2 and buy a Standard Ax recipe from Ashura. After that, you will be able to create a Standard Ax using the following materials:

  • Makeshift Ax
  • Sapwood Planks 20x
  • Copper Bar 5x

How To Use Heartwood in Palia

As soon as you accumulate a lot of Heartwood, you will automatically move to a new level of development in Palia. First, you can improve most of your tools (if the levels of specific professions allow you to do this). In addition, you can use this material as a building material for your home, creating durable and beautiful decorations. And, of course, if you upgraded your Woodcutting Skill to Level 3, you can buy the Standard Ax recipe from Ashura and craft a Fine Ax using the following materials:

  • Standard Ax
  • Heartwood Planks 20x
  • Iron Bars 5x
