In Lego Fortnite, the Obsidian raw material is required to craft the Obsidian Slab and this resource will be one of the items you will need the most in the game. Obsidians are located in Lava Caves and you need to know which biome to go to in order to find an Obsidian location. It is also very difficult to locate these caves in this biome. Before heading to this biome of Lava Caves in Lego Fortnite, it’s important to be prepared and know what kind of Pickaxe to bring with you. Otherwise, you might have to travel a very long way back empty-handed.

You can find the Obsidian ore in Dry Valley, aka Desert biome in Lego Fortnite. To be precise, you can find it inside the Lava Caves in Dry Valley. They look like purple crystals and you can see them on the walls. You’ll have to travel quite a distance to get there, and on top of that, you won’t know which side Dry Valley is on. Balloons are extremely useful in these situations to get you flying, but you’ll need to go to Dry Valley at least once and get Flexwood to unlock them.

Before you set off for Dry Valley, you need a few things. Some of these are optional and some are mandatory. The Rare Pickaxe, Snowberry Shake, and Cool-Headed Charm are mandatory, while the Glider and Grappler are optional.

You need at least a Rare Pickaxe to break Obsidian. Snowberry Shake and Cool-Headed Charms are to protect you from the hot temperatures. When it comes to Glider and Grappler, they give you the advantage of mobility in Lava Caves, which are extremely difficult to move around in Lego Fortnite.

When you make your preparations and find Dry Valley, you will see caves made of yellow rocks. It’s hard to distinguish between them as everything is yellow, so check your map often using the “M” key. If you pass near a Lava Cave, you can recognize it by seeing its icon on your map. When you enter the Lava Caverns in Lego Fortnite, you will encounter Skeletons that are stronger than normal. Some of them can even throw Dynamite at you, so be very careful.
