In Pokémon GO, you aren’t short on companions to catch. Some are region-based or only pop up in certain environments and weather. Not to mention the hunt for shiny Pokémon just to have a different aesthetic to admire. One Pokémon remains elusive, however, and that’s Zarude. We’ll touch on Zarude in Pokémon GO and whether or not you can get your hands on one.
How to Get Zarude in Pokémon GO
Zarude is a Dark/Grass-type Mythical Pokémon that originally arrived in Pokémon Sword and Shield. Back in 2021, Zarude saw their Pokémon GO debut. With the rarity, you can only get Zarude at the time if you participated in and completed the “Search for Zarude!” special research assignments.
There were five steps to that assignment, and at the end, you were rewarded with a Zarude encounter. That was the only way to try and catch Zarude.
Unfortunately, if you missed out on the event back in 2021, then you can’t get Zarude.
There are no encounters with them in the wild, and so far, no event has them featured. Of course, that can all change down the road. Zarude is a Mythical Pokémon, after all, and there is somewhat of a chance of them returning in a future event.
For now, you can always try to have a friend trade Zarude with you in Pokémon GO. However, there’s a low chance of that happening since you can only own one Zarude. So, convincing a Trainer to part with theirs will be challenging, to say the least.
Zarude is certainly a worthwhile companion to have, especially when you’re battling in the Master League. Check out their stats below:
- Attack: 242
- Defense: 215
- Stamina: 233
- Max CP: 4334
In Pokémon GO, Zarude has a strong Charge Move, Power Whip, that can send a solid 16.55 DPS. They have great resistance to numerous Pokémon types, such as Dark, Electric, Ground, Water, Grass, and Ghost.
If you already have your Zarude, remember they are extremely vulnerable to Bug-type moves and Pokémon. They are also weak against Fairy, Fighting, Fire, Ice, Poison, and Flying.
So, if this gets you further interested in Zarude, you can simply keep an eye out for events to see if the Mythical Pokémon will ever be featured again.
Pokémon GO is available on iOS and Android.
