Fortnite players know that completing challenges and quests is one of the best ways to level up and unlock Battle Pass rewards quickly. One of the current challenges involves giving a hired Specialist NPC a command, which may sound tricky, but it’s actually quite simple. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to do it in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2.
Fortnite: How To Give Hired Specialist a Command
First Step: Update Fortnite
Before you begin, make sure that your game is up to date. Once it’s updated, log in to your account and start the game on your console or computer. From the lobby, start a match. Since you’re mainly doing this for the challenge, it might be advisable to do it in Solo mode, but it will also work in other modes.
Second Step: Find a Specialist
There are eight different Specialist NPCs in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2: Polar Patroller, Longshot, Insight, Sludge, Munitions Expert, Garrison, Remedy, and Triage Trooper. They can be found at various locations on the island outlined on the map. Go to one of these spots and interact with the Specialist NPC to hire them.
- Garrison
- Longshot
- Polar Patroller
- Remedy
- Triage Trooper
- Sludge
- Munitions Expert
- Insight
Third Step: Click the Command button
Once you’ve hired a Specialist NPC, the Command button will appear on the top-right corner of your screen. This button varies by device, but for PC players, it’s the middle mouse button. Hold the button on your screen for the required time to access the command wheel.
Fourth Step: Select a command
There are four different commands that you can give to a Specialist NPC: follow, go to a marked point on the map, wait, and revive a teammate that’s downed. Select any of these commands to complete the challenge, but be aware that the revive command only works if you play in Duos, Trios, or Squads and have a downed ally. The other three commands will happen automatically, allowing you to complete the challenge and receive a reward immediately.
Fortnite is available to play on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S|X, Nintendo Switch, and Mobile devices.
