Finding a Goofy Gravestone in Fortnite
This article is over 3 years old and may contain outdated information.

Goofy Gravestones are one of the many novel features introduced in the Fortnitemares event update for Fortnite Chapter 3: Season 4. These small stone tablets mark the resting sites of the dead, but they also offer a whimsical one-liner to add a bit of humor to the spooky atmosphere of the season. For instance, if players find one out in the wilderness, they can approach it to receive easter egg-related statements like “Willow’s Axe Cache – Don’t Touch” or “Didn’t thank the Bus Driver.” Continue reading to learn more about these odd tombstones in Fortnite Chapter 3: Season 4.

Update, August 26, 2024: Goofy Gravestone is no longer featured in Fortnite.

Using Goofy Gravestone in Fortnite

Interacting with a Goofy Gravestone in Fortnite

To interact with Goofy Gravestone in Fortnite Chapter 3: Season 4, players must use their input for “Interact.” For instance, Xbox gamepad users can press the X Button, while PlayStation players must push their Square button. Regardless, a prompt will appear displaying which key or button must be pressed when players approach the tomb.

Goofy Gravestone in Fortnite are able to give players a total of ten random one-liners:

  • It’s just teeth in here!
  • Cuddle Team Founder
  • This is NOT a secret apocalypse bunker
  • This plot is sponsored by No Sweat Insurance
  • Take a Femur, Leave a Femur
  • Available for Sublet – contact Grisabelle
  • In case of zombie outbreak, this grave will be unoccupied
  • Willow’s Axe Cache – Don’t Touch!
  • Didn’t thank the Bus Driver
  • Meowscles (Life 3 of 9)

Outside of giving these comical statements, Goofy Gravestones have no other gameplay use in Fortnite. However, many daily Fortnitemares Quests and their corresponding objectives have yet to be released. In other words, there could be a Fortnitemares challenge that tasks players with finding and interacting with Goofy Gravestones found around the map. However, until such quests are announced, players can only receive funny jokes from the tombstones.

Goofy Gravestones are not the only easter egg-style features added in the Halloween update. Players can also discover other unique spooky landmarks and structures, such as the Knowby Cabin, a homestead from The Evil Dead franchise. Finding this location is related to the Fortnitemares Questline but not necessary in Fortnite.

Fortnite is available for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.
