Just like Season of Discovery brought a fresh coat of paint to World of Warcraft Classic, WoW Remix: Mists of Pandaria is doing the same to its retail version. With players eagerly waiting for the arrival of The War Within, WoW Remix allows adventurers to relive Pandaria’s storyline while leveling fast. Furthermore, it has a Diablo 4-like loot system where you get plenty of gear by defeating enemies, completing quests, and then upgrading said gear to carry you all the way to level 70. So, with all these things to do, it’s important to know how to reach the maximum level as fast as possible during this limited-time event.
The Fastest Leveling Method in WoW Remix: Mists of Pandaria
Before we kick this off, take this as a disclaimer. If you’re unfamiliar with how leveling in World of Warcraft works, it is essentially taking your main character to the max level, and then your other characters, called ‘alts,’ will get increased experience gains most of the time. In WoW Remix Mistis of Pandaria, there’s also a similar method that allows you to level up fast. However, we’ll break down these methods for your first character and your subsequent ones.
Leveling Your First Character
First, you must create a Timerunner character. You can do this in any of your realms by clicking Create Character and selecting the Timerunner option. In WoW Remix Mists of Pandaria, you can level any class and race fast, even the new ones like Drachtyr and Evoker. Once you pick your race and class, enter your world, and you’ll be tasked with completing a short tutorial where you’ll receive your Cloak of Infinite Potential. This is the most important item in the event that will stay with you throughout it. If you don’t know what it does, let us explain a bit before we move on to leveling tips.
How Does the Cloak of Infinite Potential Work?
The Cloak of Infinite Potential works similarly to the Legion artifacts in the sense that it increases its power as you progress through the game. However, to make the most out of your cloak, you need to obtain Threads. Whenever you complete a quest, finish a dungeon, or defeat an enemy, there’s a chance to obtain a stat-increasing Thread. These items will increase your cloak’s stats. For example, in the above image, I gather seven Threads of Experience. Just by looting them, the experience gained from your cloak will increase automatically, and that happens with every stat. Some Threads give you increased leech, speed, etc.
Also, it’s important to remember that these Threads rely on RNG, so you need to continue finishing quests and beating enemies to get them; not all enemies drops one, though. Furthermore, Threads of Experience are the most important to level up fast in WoW Remix Mists of Pandaria.
The Best Leveling Method in WoW Remix Mists of Pandaria
For your first character, the best leveling method is to stick to quests. After experimenting for a while, I noticed that doing dungeons at a low level and a few other instances didn’t give me a lot of experience, especially because the cloak lacked any experience boosts. Right now, my experience boost is at 7%, which doesn’t make a huge difference. However, through questing, you get a lot of experience and many chests that contain gems and gear. So, if you’re on your first character, stick to the main quest. You can visit all Pandaria zones at the following levels:
Required Level | Zones |
---|---|
10 | Jade Forest Greenstone Village (Scenario) Brewing Storm (Scenario) Theramore’s Fall (Scenario) Temple of the Jade Serpent (Dungeon) Scarlet Halls (Dungeon) Scarlet Monastery (Dungeon) Scholomance (Dungeon) |
20 | Valley of the Four Winds Krasarang Wilds Unga Ingoo (Scenario) Domination Point (Scenario) Lion’s Landing (Scenario) A Little Patience (Scenario) Stormstout Brewery (Dungeon) |
25 | Kun-Lai Summit Arena of Annihilation (Scenario) Brewmoon Festival (Scenario) Crypt of Forgotten Kings (Scenario) Shado-Pan Monastery (Dungeon) Mogu’shan Vaults (Raid) |
30 | Townlong Steppes Assault on Zan’vess (Scenario) Siege of Niuzao Temple (Dungeon) |
35 | Dread Wastes Heart of Fear (Raid) |
40 | Vale of Eternal Blossoms Battle on the High Seas (Scenario) Blood in the Snow (Scenario) Dark Heart of Pandaria (Scenario) Secrets of Ragefire (Scenario) Mogu’shan Palace (Dungeon) Gate of the Setting Sun (Dungeon) Terrace of Endless Spring (Raid) |
45 | Isle of Giants Timeless Isle |
50 | Isle of Thunder Throne of Thunder (Raid) |
60 | Siege of Orgrimmar (Raid) |
70 | Heroic Raids |
Recommended Questing Route
For your first character in WoW Remix Mists of Pandaria, the goal should be to reach level 70 as fast as possible while obtaining as many Threads of Experience as you can. My personal leveling route is the following:
- Jade Forest
- Krasarang Wilds
- Kun-Lai Summit
- Towlong Steppes
- Dread Wastes
By doing all zones’ storylines, you should have more than enough experience to reach level 70, especially with the experience buffs. If not, you can continue to Vale of Eternal Blossoms or queue for some dungeons to reach level 70.
Leveling Your Second Character and Beyond
You might be wondering why I’m recommending that you rush through Pandaria’s story and ignore other instances, especially since dungeons and raids can also drop Threads and, more importantly, gear with gem sockets. Well, as of now, I’ve only seen the option to transfer gems to ‘alt’ characters, which means farming gear might be futile. Instead, it is better to stick to the main quests, try and get as many Threads of Experience as possible, and then use your second character to obtain Bronze and other collectibles.
Ultimately, it is up to you to choose how you’ll spend your time in WoW Remix Mists of Pandaria, but if you want to level up fast to have characters ready for The War Within, stick to the main quest for better and faster experience gains. Also, remember that once you reach level 70, your Timerunner character will transfer to the normal realm, meaning you can use them for the next expansion.
