In the best traditions of the studio, you can create a unique character and go to search various worlds in the universe. But even though you find yourself in the distant future, the eternal problem of locked doors will still prevent you from getting valuable loot. Therefore, you need to learn how to open locks as quickly as possible. So, read on to find out how to lockpick doors easily in Starfield.
Starfield Lockpicking Explained
Starfield continues the tradition of previous developer titles. And this applies to many aspects of the game, including locks. During your adventure, you will be able to find many doors and chests locked with special locks. To open them, you need to play a mini-game. Luckily, it’s pretty easy, at least at first.
So, to lockpick a door or a chest in Starfield, you need to use a digital lockpick, or as it is more commonly called, a Digipick. The mini-game consists of several rings with missing segments. To “open” one ring, you must select one of the keys on the right. The keys have several blocks placed in a circle at different distances. The correct key has the blocks in the same positions as the missing segments in the lock ring.
After selecting the key, you can rotate it 360 degrees to fit it correctly. If you do everything right, the first ring will disappear, and you will have to do the same with the next one. When all the rings are “open” you will pick the lock and get a Digipick as an additional reward.
However, if you can’t lockpick a door or chest in Starfield or you leave it, you won’t get an extra Digipick. It is also worth noting that the mini-game is generated randomly every time you interact with the lock. Therefore, one lock can’t have the same mini-game.
