Once you learn how to make gasoline in Ark Survival Evolved, you can power plenty of your structures. Since its initial release over five years ago, the game grew with numerous expansion packs, updates, and creatures to tame. Even with the frequent additions, Ark lives up to the expectations of any good survival game. You need resources and materials if you want to make it. Gasoline is one of the many required resources. We’ll show you how you can make and use it.
How To Get Gasoline in Ark Survival Evolved
From taming prehistoric animals and trying not to die, Ark Survival Evolved has plenty of things to do. If you want to make those technological developments, you will need Gasoline. It’s up to you to learn how to make Gasoline in Ark.
There are two primary places you can craft gasoline:
- Refining Forge
- Industrial Forge
You can unlock the Refining Forge at Level 20, but you must first have a Campfire. The Industrial Forge is an advanced structure that you can access at Level 80 if you have a Refining Forge and a Fabricator.
Both the Refining Forge and the Industrial Forge require the same recipe to help you get Gasoline in Ark Survival Evolved:
- x6 Oil
- x5 Hide
You’ll burn it for 30 seconds in both structures to create x1 Gasoline. The Industrial Forge can make x100 Gasoline at a time if you have enough raw materials.
Other than the two main places, if you have the Aberration DLC, you can make Gas-Crafted Gasoline with the Chemistry Bench. You’ll need the following materials:
- x20 Congealed Gas Ball
- x20 Green Gem or Fragmented Green Gem
How To Get Materials for Gasoline
To make Gasoline in Ark Survival Evolved, you need enough materials. You can mine oil with a pickaxe or use a Dunkleosteus or Ankylosaurus. If you have a tamed Basilosaurus or Tusoteuthis, check its inventory. Oil will occasionally accumulate there. Oil nodes spawn in places such as the ocean, on the Scorched Earth map from Jug Bugs, and even in the Snow Biome beach or icebergs. You can also place a Hesperornis Egg inside a Cooking Pot or Industrial Cooker to yield oil.
After you learn how to make Gasoline in Ark, you also need enough hide. You can harvest hide from various corpses from Sabertooth to Rock Drake. It works for numerous creatures as long as they aren’t Invertebrates or Fish. If you aren’t using a tamed dinosaur to help, use a Chainsaw, Pick, or Metal Hatchet.
Congealed Gas Balls and Green Gems are for the Chemistry Bench. The Congealed Gas Balls come from a Gas Collector set on a Gas Vein. You can mine Green Gems from green crystalline formations. Fragmented Green Gems come from blue crystal structures or Gacha crystals.
