How To Obtain the Demi-Ozma Mount in FFXIV

You’re in for a grind.

This article is over 1 years old and may contain outdated information.

For the Warriors of Light who need something new after saving Eorzea and beyond, FFXIV has many rare mounts to get, such as Demi-Ozma. If you didn’t know, this is one of the most coveted and rarest items in the game. Introduced in Final Fantasy 9 and featured as a mount in the MMO, obtaining it is any Final Fantasy fan’s dream. However, you need to grind on a particular Stormblood instance, and even then, pray there are enough people to help you with the dungeon holding this iconic mount.

FFXIV: Demi-Ozma Mount Guide

To get the Demi-Ozma mount in FFXIV, you’ll need to unlock Eureka, progress through it, and reach the final dungeon of this instance. While it sounds easy and fast, that’s not the case, as you are required to grind a lot, have a group of 48 people, and face one of the game’s most challenging optional dungeons. Below is a list of everything you must do.

Unlocking Eureka

Eureka was FFXIV‘s first “grindy” area. What I mean by this is that, by the end of Stormblood, players came here to get their artifact weapons, armor, and more. This was later replaced by Bozja in Shadowbringers and so far, it’s been a formula people love. So, to start your Demi-Ozma grind in FFXIV, do this:

  1. Head to Rhlagr’s Reach after finishing Stormblood’s MSQ.
  2. Head to the location in the image we included above to begin the “And We Shall Call it Eureka” quest.
  3. Travel to Kugane, watch the cutscene, and head to the pier.

After these steps, Eureka will be available to you to enter at any time. However, you have a long journey ahead of you because you must reach The Baldesion Arsenal.

Since our focus is only on helping you get the Demi-Ozma mount in FFXIV, we’ll go over the general steps to unlock the dungeon that gives you the achievement, thus unlocking the mount.

  1. Complete the Eureka storyline.
  2. Reach elemental level 60 within Eureka.
  3. Wait for the “I Don’t Want to Believe” FATE to spawn.
    • This FATE only spawns if there aren’t players in The Baldesion Arsenal and if there are eight people in Eureka who meet the requirements listed on points 1 and 2.
  4. Defeat the boss and wait for the 48 portals to spawn.
    • For this step, I recommend looking for a party finder group because you’ll need 48 people to enter the dungeon.
  5. Once the portals spawn, enter one of them. Only one player per portal.
  6. Defeat the final boss of The Baldesion Arsenal to unlock the “We’re On Your Side I” Achievement, which unlocks Demi-Ozma.

Doing all these steps will require a lot of time and preparation. Thankfully, there are still many groups in 2024 that you can find in-game. If you’re having difficulty, what worked for me was asking in general chat for a link to a Baldesion Arsenal Discord server, which usually has a lot of people doing runs for this dungeon.
