Conduit is the new Support class Legend in Apex Legends, which operates under the title Shield Healer. Her abilities are all focused on both healing and destroying shields, letting her operate as a strong support anchor for any squad. Conduit best serves as the backline of an aggressive squad, due to her skillset. In order to maximize her abilities and synergy with other Legends, you need to understand her abilities and the best way to play her. Here’s everything you need to know about playing Conduit in Apex Legends.
Conduit’s Abilities in Apex Legends and Best Uses
Conduit’s abilities in Apex Legends make her a strong backline player for an aggressive squad. Before getting into strategies, below you can find a breakdown of her abilities.
Conduit’s abilities:
- Savior’s Speed Passive: Conduit gets a speed boost when running towards allies out of range of her tactical.
- Radiant Transfer Tactical: Blast your ally with energy, regenerating temporary shields for them when in danger.
- Energy Barricade: Deploy an array of shield jammers that damage and slow enemies.
The Savior’s Speed Passive causes Conduit to get a speed boost when targeting a teammate outside of the tactical range, which allows you to catch up when behind the rest of your squad. This is beneficial because you will want to play behind your teammates, so you can use the tactical ability to provide them with shields when they take damage. The temporary shields–which provide about two-and-a-half shield chunks–only provide benefits when your teammates are missing shields. It does apply to Conduit herself and the targeted teammate, so you can use it to give yourself protection in combat.
The ultimate ability drops a field of distributors that slow enemies and do tick damage to shields, about ten damage per second. The shape of the field is a series of circles in a straight line fired into the air before landing. This ultimate is very attack-focused, giving you a chance to force the enemy team to scramble, allowing you to get in there while they try to escape your trap. It’s a great opening attack, or you can use it to start a push on a squad that has already taken some damage.
Conduit’s Best Potential Teammates
Conduit’s abilities in Apex Legends make her a great fit for a squad filled out with Assault and Skirmisher Legends. These Legends, like Ash, Fuse, Octane, and more, are all at their best when they are pushing in. Conduit’s skills make her a perfect backline for an offense-focused squad. Her tactical ability is only helpful when in combat. Her passive keeps her up, and her ultimate is a great offensive opener. Surrounding her with teammates who also want to dive on every squad she sees lets her maximize her ability usage.
There are some Recon Legends that fit with her, like Bloodhound and Seer, that are more focused on offense that works as well. Conduit doesn’t fit well with defense-focused Legends, like the Controller category, or defense Supports, like Gibraltar. While her temporary shields can be used in a defensive squad, but both her passive and ultimate encourage attacking.
As for Conduit’s role in the offense-focused squad, she must play the backline. You need to look at your teammates for their passive and tactical abilities, so keeping them in front of you is beneficial. Since her ultimate can be fired over a distance, you aren’t penalized for playing behind the rest of your squad. Overall, your role is still Support, so Conduit is best used to help your squad instead of being the hero yourself.
Apex Legends is available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
