You can’t have chaos without the Crown Prince himself. Joker’s arrival sets off further anarchy in this multiverse crisis, making the journey as eventful as possible. But whether you play MultiVersus PvE or PvP, learning the best moveset or perks for Joker will help you delight in the deranged fun he brings to the table. Technically classified as a Mage, Joker can own the air and make approaching him risky. There’s still plenty you can do with his build.
Best Perks For Joker in MultiVersus
Before you play Joker in MultiVersus, it’s important to work out good perks that mesh well with the demented villain. You can always try out our suggestions or work in your own favorite perks to create a build you’re comfortable with. Just know that the perks below can play well with Joker’s strengths:
Perk | How It Work |
---|---|
Coffeezilla | Lowers the cooldown on abilities, and Joker is a MultiVersus fighter who should heavily lean into his abilities. |
Triple Jump | As the name implies, the perk helps keep you airborne longer, and when paired with his balloon special, Joker can live all over the map. |
Make It Rain, Dog | Increases projectile speed, a must-have for Joker as he has a few projectile moves. |
Kryptonian Skin | Joker can get a bit squishy if you’re not careful, so coming in with a damage-reducing perk is useful. |
Best Joker Moveset
As you play with Joker in MultiVersus, you’ll figure out your favorite moveset for this fighter, as all of his moves are generally useful. Here are a few moves we strongly recommend focusing on. They focus on the heavy damage output he can put out long-range and his effectiveness when close up.
Move | How To Use It | How It Works |
---|---|---|
Dirty Dealer! (Ground) | Neutral + Attack | Joker simply jumps on a pogo stick, which can increase your jump, help you recover, or damage an opponent beneath you. |
Everything But The Kitchen Sink! (Ground) | Side + Attack | The Joker hurls objects for a combo attack. It can work at the start of a longer combo chain or to finish one. |
Crowbarred! (Ground) | Up + Attack | Uses his crowbar to knock opponents in the air. The move is most effective when charged. |
Ballontastic! (Ground) | Up + Special | Uses a balloon to launch himself up, and said balloon is left behind to be used by Joker or allies. |
Oh No Pogo! (Aerial) | Down + Attack | Uses a balloon to launch himself up, and said balloon is left behind to be used by Joker or his allies. |
Take a Whiff! (Aerial) | Neutral + Special | The charge allows Joker to fire acid from his acid flower. It’s effective for breaking armor. |
Lemme At ‘Em! (Aerial) | Side + Attack | A charged-up move using his spring-loaded boxing glove. An efficient way to knock back opponents. |
Puttin’ On A Blitz! (Aerial) | Side + Special | Simply a way for Joker to dash forward and knock opponents at the same time. |
Tips and Tricks To Play Joker in MultiVersus
The best way you can play Joker in MultiVersus is to balance his chargeable moves. They share the same charge bar, so you’ll want to be strategic about when you’re using certain ones. But one of the best ways to succeed with him is to remember his moves — more specifically, the projectile cards. As long as you know which one is next in line, you’ll know whether you’re about to stick an explosive on them or send a card through them, freeing you to set up those hard-hitting combos.
Additionally, when you play Joker, you want to take full advantage of his MultiVersus balloon special. It works on the ground and in the air, so you can bring it out as needed. It’s an excellent way to set up combos or help you (and any allies) move around the map better. For instance, Ballontastic followed by Crowbarred leaves you open for a ground + air combo. Send them flying and then use the balloon to jump up and continue the attack with a move like Lemme At ‘Em.
Joker’s even excellent at edge guarding. A move like Oh No Pogo can keep climbing opponents off the map until they fall completely. Just know that it’s risky, as you can wind up sacrificing yourself if you’re not careful.
And that’s generally all it takes to play a good Joker in MultiVersus. Always keep an eye on your charge bar, and you can have fun with his amusing projectiles and unique moveset.
MultiVersus is available on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox.
