Instagram’s Emoji Game plays similarly to Brick Breaker, a 1999 game that originally came preloaded with the Blackberry devices. Developed by Ali Asaria and published by Digital Chocolate, the game is now available for download on the iOS App Store.
The game itself is a Breakout clone, which implements the same mechanics in that a thin platform launches a ball towards objects. Players must move the platform to anticipate the ball’s drop and deflect it. Lives are lost if the player fails to catch the ball and it hits the bottom of the screen.
In the case of Instagram’s Emoji Game, it’s one strike and you’re out. No do-overs. That means the main objective is simply to score more points than your opponent.
How to Play the Emoji Game on Instagram
The Emoji Game can be accessed via Instagram’s DMs.
- Firstly, open the Instagram app.
- In order to initiate a round, navigate over to the direct messages tab on Instagram.
- Inside your chat list, select whomever you wish to challenge.
- Inside the chat, simply send any emoji to start the game.
- Tap on the emoji within the chat and this will trigger the Emoji Game.
The game will automatically start in whichever chat you choose. Bounce the emoji off the platform to earn points, but don’t let the emoji touch the bottom of the screen. Challenge friends and family to get a higher score than you, but we bet they won’t.
