Whether you want to communicate properly with your squad or scream at enemies in Gray Zone Warfare, you should learn how its VOIP system works. Since communication is key to surviving in this co-op PvEvP shooter, you’ll have to learn the ins and outs of its voice-chat mechanics. While it features a stable system, finding the push-to-talk button in Gray Zone Warfare can be a bit confusing, especially if you’re coming from other games. But don’t fret because we’re here to help you get your comms started.
How To Enable VOIP in Gray Zone Warfare
VOIP is enabled by default in Gray Zone Warfare. If you head to the settings menu, you can see it’s already on. If you’re not a fan of talking or hearing others, you can turn it off here. However, we recommend leaving it on, especially if playing as a squad. With how realistic the game is, failing to spot an enemy can cost you dearly. If you didn’t know, one death will make you lose everything you have, which can be extremely stressful if you progressed a lot previously.
How To Use Push-to-Talk
Gray Zone Warfare also features a push-to-talk function, which you can use by pressing ‘Z.’ It is a bit strange to have it set to this key, but you can always switch your keybinds on the menu. I recommend switching it to your ‘V’ key, as it is the standard in other games.
Should You Play With VOIP On or Off?
It’s up to you. If you’re going for immersion, leave it on. It can get loud at times, but that’s what the life of a PMC member is. On the other hand, if you want a bit of privacy or play solo, shut it off. It’ll be much harder and won’t spot people easily, but you can manage if you play safely. Ultimately, the choice is yours.
Gray Zone Warfare is available on PC in early access.
