There are several quests you can tackle in Absolum, but one of the trickiest ones involves the elusive Heart of the Mists. This location can be accessed through Grandery, but you’ll need to follow some specific steps to reach it, and even protect an NPC as you make your way toward it if you want to complete the objective. If you’re struggling to reach it or are unsure how to find the Heart of the Mists, here’s a quick guide to help you.
Heart of the Mists Walkthrough
The Heart of the Mists quest in Absolum will only become available once you go through the top area of Grandery, beat one or two bosses, and get the breadcrumbs leading you to this optional objective. While not a priority like other systems in the game that give you a lot of rewards or allow you to unlock permanent upgrades, this quest is still worth chasing, as it unlocks one of the most helpful vendors in that game that you’ll eventually encounter in the final area and in certain levels.

You’ll get the first breadcrumbs for the quest after going through the area with human enemies, and once you spot Jendrik near the entrance to the Mists. Here, you won’t be able to do much, as the actual quest will begin once you find a specific Goblin. So, if it is your first time in the Mists, take any direction and start a new run until you find the Goblin Champion.

Once you find the Goblin Champion, jump into the Mists, defeat the enemies, and then the Goblin will give you the most important clue to reach the Heart of the Mists: “hit the sign twice.”

After doing so, you’ll notice that the arrow will land pointing at any of the two paths. That’s where you need to go.

You’ll go through a couple more areas and eventually reach the Heart of the Mists in Absolum, and here’s where two things will happen.
If the Goblin Champion is alive, they will jump inside the water, and more Goblins will appear. The next time you enter the Goblin Village, you’ll receive a surprise gift that will help you in that run. However, the most important unlock, and one that happens regardless of whether the Goblin Champion is there or not, is the Ritual vendor, who, as the name implies, will sell you Rituals for 200 gold pieces, and will now appear in certain zones of the map.

The quest itself isn’t that challenging, but it is important that you don’t hit the sign more than you should. If you do, just start the run over. Also, if you’re struggling to keep the Goblin Champion alive, buy the permanent upgrades in the tree that empower all mercenaries in the game.
