The concept of Agents from The Matrix universe is incredibly intimidating. However, that only makes Agent Smith’s involvement in the MultiVersus universe far more exciting. He’s not officially out yet, but you have a chance to earn the character now for when MultiVersus finally does officially release. Get ready to jump into the PvE portion of the game and earn Agent Smith for free!

Between May 27 and July 30, you will be able to participate in the Beat Rifts, Get Agent Smith Free event. In it, you will be asked to defeat six bosses in Rift mode. Once completed, you’ll earn:

  • Agent Smith a whole two weeks early and for free.
  • An exclusive Agent Smith variant that cannot be obtained elsewhere.
  • 3,000 Fighter Currency

If you miss the event or don’t defeat the six bosses, you’ll have to earn Agent Smith via other means. Considering that it says “for free”, you’ll be required to pay real-world money for the DLC upon release. Also, I hope it’s safe to say that although you would have earned him after completing the event, you won’t immediately get him until he is officially available.

When Does Agent Smith Comes Out?

There is currently no official release date for Agent Smith’s arrival, but the event will guarantee you the character. You only have a month to finish everything, so try getting it done early to avoid running out of time. Although there’s no dollar value for Agent Smith yet, that could change soon and considering the price of some DPC characters in other games, you might want to take a crack at getting him for free first.

MultiVersus is available to play on Steam or the Epic Games Store, PlayStation, and Xbox.
