This article is over 2 years old and may contain outdated information.

Once you’ve hit Coffee World in the city of Watery within Alan Wake 2, things have gone from strange to absolutely outlandish. Part of the headache in this area involves finding a spare key to Saga’s trailer hidden in a safe within the abandoned amusement park’s gift shop. When you arrive, you’ll find that not only is no one there after Ilmo had explicitly told you there would be, but the safe is locked with a passcode even unknown to his brother Jaakko.

For those uninterested in details, let’s get down to business. The code you need to open the Gift Shop Safe in Alan Wake 2 is 1-4-6. However, those wanting a more immersive time than a quick solution can continue on to the details of the puzzle below.

Above the safe itself, there is a note written to Ilmo from Jaakko asking him why he had changed the combination. Saga will make a note that the code to the safe could very well be hidden within a profiling session against the brothers. When you enter your mind palace, you can profile the brothers to get a hint that a clue to the combination is hidden somewhere inside the gift shop.

Take a look at the note that Jaakko wrote for Ilmo. You’ll notice that Ilmo scribbled the new combination via this code: Tracker, Lookout, Cleaner. With this knowledge, you’ll need to make your way over to the employee board, as featured in the image above.

You’ll see that the employee pictures are arranged in the same way as the numbers on the safe combination. Using the clues, you can assess that the terms that Ilmo wrote were referring to Susan at Lost and Found, Joonas at Security, and Victor the Janitor. Using this information, use the code 1-4-6 to open the safe and get the key inside.
