Among all the mysteries you’ll encounter in Hell Is Us, “Hideout” is one of the most confusing, especially since it starts way before reaching the actual safe you have to open. However, this is something that happens in many of the optional objectives of the game, so this should be a walk in the park for you. Assuming you’re following the main story and grabbing everything that isn’t nailed down to the floor as you move through this war-torn world, you might’ve discovered the breadcrumbs that will lead you to one of the hardest safes to crack in the game. If you’re still struggling, however, here’s a quick guide on how to complete the “Hideout” mystery in Hell Is Us.
‘Hideout’ Mystery Walkthrough
While the zone that houses the safe of the “Hideout” mystery in Hell Is Us is Talju, you’ll actually start working toward this optional objective once you reach the third zone: Vyssa Hills. Here, you’ll have to locate a place called Watcher’s Nest, but before that, you will encounter the corpse of a woman surrounded by a few enemies. Defeat the enemies and approach it to grab the items.

While interacting with the corpse will also provide more story details, the object you’ll need later is Agatha’s Ethnic ID Card. Once you grab it, keep it in your inventory; there’s no need to add it to your quick slots just yet.

After that, keep progressing through the story until you reach Talju, which is one of the smallest zones in the game. Grab the area’s map, and your destination is on the far left of the town, in a house where an NPC is hiding. This is Agatha’s house.

As soon as you enter, you will encounter a white safe and a few documents outside of it. They provide lore and some interactions with The Journalist, but that’s it. However, if you want to open the safe, now’s the time to look at the Card.
If you look at the picture above, you’ll see a lot of numbers written down, and one might assume that the code we need to open the safe is Agatha’s birthday, but that’s not the case. You need the serial number, more specifically, the last five digits, meaning that the code is 34911.

Input the code into the keypad and wait for the safe to open. Contrary to other mysteries, the rewards aren’t game-changers or anything of the sort. They are mostly lore items that provide some background details to the plot and Agatha’s relationship with the Vigil, but that’s it. Yet, if you want to unlock the Super-Sleuth achievement, you’ll definitely want to complete this objective.
