Don’t Starve Together is a funny and cute survival adventure that features a number of terrifying, odd-looking bosses. The Eye of Terror is just one of many bosses you will face in Don’t Starve Together. This creature comes from Terraria, where it is not a beast to fear. However, Don’t Starve Together tells a different story of this beast, and you might have some problems eliminating it if you don’t have the right strategy. Moreover, how to spawn the Eye of Terror in Don’t Starve Together is enigmatic, but we have you covered.
Don’t Starve Together: Eye of Terror Boss Guide
The Eye of Terror is a crossover boss introduced in Don’t Starve Together through the “An Eye for An Eye” update. Originating from Terraria’s Eye of Cthulhu, it presents a formidable challenge with two phases.
How To Spawn Eye of Terror in Don’t Starve Together
Before you fight, you will need to summon the Eye of Terror boss in Don’t Starve Together as this one doesn’t spawn on its own at a specific location, day, or season. Follow these simple steps:
- Your first step is to find a Conspicuous Chest. This particular chest holds a crucial item needed to spawn Eye of Terror.
- These chests spawn randomly in Forest Biomes. Typically, you can find it anywhere between the evil flower ring or near Pig Torches and Guardian Pigs.
- When you open the Conspicuous Chest, you will trigger a random event that will ignite the evil flower ring or transform Guardian Pigs into Werepigs, so beware. Nevertheless, pick up the items from the chest, including the Terrarium.
- Now that you have Terrarium, activate it in the night to spawn Eye of Terror.
How to Defeat the Eye of Terror
Before starting the fight with this creature from Terraria, you will need to prepare:
- Make sure to have weapons with full durability, as a normal Spear won’t suffice. Opt for better weapons to ensure you can defeat the boss within a single night.
- Have 2-3 pieces of Log Armor or Football Helmets ready. Remember that you can only wear one piece at a time due to the lack of cumulative damage reduction.
- Healing Food can be optional, but it is always good to have on you. So, bring Pierogi, Fish sticks, Jerky, or Wobster Bisque to heal yourself during the battle.
- A Walking Cane is recommended to help with the hit-and-run strategy. This will assist in maneuvering as you’ll need to move a lot during the fight.

Once you have the required equipment and resources engage in a fight and follow these simple steps to beat Eye of Terror in Don’t Starve Together:
- When the boss appears, you will be able to plant some easy hits before it starts attacking you. When it starts charging at you dodge it and then assume a new position.
- Keep landing attacks between its charges to reach Phase 2 of the battle.
- Eye of Terror can spawn Egg of Terror, through which a weak Suspicious Peeper hatches. If you break the egg before hatching, you will make the fight easier as you won’t need to deal with too many enemies swarming you.
- The second phase starts when Eye of Terror’s health depletes to 3250. In this phase, the fight becomes more intense as you will deal with more charge attacks, then two Egg of Terror, and a ground slam attack.
- You might need a co-player to face both the egg and Eye of Terror. If you don’t defeat it on the first night, you can summon the boss the following night and it will have the same amount of health when the battle ended.
- When you beat Eye of Terror, you will receive Eye Mask and Milky Whites.
This is all you need to know about Eye of Terror in Don’t Starve Together. Follow these easy steps and you will easily defeat it.
