Those who pre-ordered Assassin’s Creed Shadows will get a side mission called “Thrown to the Dogs.” While it isn’t the longest quest in the game, it offers one cool reward that you can use in your hideout, which you should have unlocked by now. So, if you’ve already jumped into this huge open world of Shadows, we’ll tell you where to start, how to complete it, and what you’ll get after the quest is over.
Thrown to the Dogs DLC Quest Guide
To unlock the Thrown to the Dogs DLC quest, the only requirement is to unlock the open world. This happens after roughly two hours, which serve as the game’s introduction. Without spoilers, it is after Naoe’s training montage. Once you are in the open world, you’ll want to look at the location below.

The exact location is in the fields south of Osaka Castle, between the Temple of Osaka and Tennoji Temple. You’ll be able to see the icon on your map, and the quest’s level will scale to your current level.
Once you have tracked the quest, you can head to where a dog is asking for help. You’ll need to battle a few bandits and then learn about what the dog is guarding.

Then, you’ll need to follow the dog to a state where you’ll get into a conversation with some other bandits. Here, you’ll also get a taste of some of the dialog choices in the game. We picked the first option for obvious reasons, but this part of the quest might have a different outcome for you.

Regardless, you’ll need to locate a key. To make the process faster for you, the key is under a house. You have to crawl to obtain it. After that, you must return to Tennoji Temple to unlock a chest.

We won’t spoil the story part, but the rewards include 1,000 experience points and Tsuki-maru, the dog you helped throughout the quest. You can place Tsuki-maru in your hideout, but contrary to other animals, you can only place one Tsuki-maru, so make sure to give it a nice place to relax.
