How to Summon the Moon Lord in Terraria
There are two ways to summon the Moon Lord in Terraria. You can summon and defeat the Moon Lord in Terraria with either of these two ways. You can try whichever of the following two ways is easiest for you:
- Once it’s the Lunar Event time, you’ll need to destroy all four Celestial Pillars – Solar, Nebula, Vortex, and Stardust. One minute after destroying all these Pillars, the Moon Lord will spawn. It doesn’t matter in what order you destroy the pillars.
- The second method is to summon the Moon Lord using the Celestial Sigil. You can get a Celestial Sigil by crafting 20 Nebula Fragments, 20 Solar Fragments, 20 Stardust Fragments, and 20 Vortex Fragments at the Ancient Manipulator Crafting Station. This item can be crafted in any biome and at any time. Upon activating the Celestial Sigil, the Moon Lord will be summoned.
As you can see, you can spawn the Moon Lord in Terraria using both of these methods. The first method is easier to do. However, you can also use the second method if you have destroyed the Golem and got the recipe.

Since Moon Lord is one of the most challenging bosses in Terraria, it takes some tactics and strategy to beat him. Equip your best weapons, gear, and wings or flying mounts, and get ready to defeat the Moon Lord. First of all, we will tell you a few tips that will help you beat the Moon Lord:
- You can create a position where you can move more efficiently by building a long sky bridge. In this way, the Moon Lord will not always be able to reach you.
- You can gain passive Health regeneration by placing campfires on platforms. This will significantly help you survive the war. Also, if a Nurse NPC is nearby, you can quickly heal yourself at low Health.
- Most importantly, you must have a flying mount or wings to dodge and kite the Moon Lord’s attacks. This way, you will protect yourself from his fast and fatal attacks.

After each eye is destroyed, the Moon Lord will summon an enemy named True Eyes Of Cthululu. You can’t kill this enemy, so don’t waste time attacking. It should be easier for you to dodge the True Eyes Of Cthululu’s attacks as it remains stationary. Upon destroying all eyes, the Moon Lord’s chest will open, and you can attack it. Moon Lord will be eliminated when his chest’s health bar is destroyed, and the screen will turn white, meaning you have achieved defeated it.
