Lethal Company would be a creepy game even if there weren’t monsters. Between the pounding rain, the bottomless shadows, and the echo of your own footsteps in empty halls, there are plenty of reasons to be nervous. Of course, it wouldn’t be much of a horror game if it ended there. While you work for the Company, you’ll be confronted by numerous monsters that stand between you and your scrap. Unfortunately, you have quotas to fill, and new flashlights won’t buy themselves, so you’ll need some way to deal with Eyeless Dogs and other monsters. Here’s everything you need to know to survive Eyeless Dogs in Lethal Company.
How To Survive Eyeless Dogs in Lethal Company
(Updated on August 13, 2024 – updated links and format)
Eyeless Dogs are pretty much what they sound like: eyeless dogs the size of bears. Unsurprisingly, they’re blind, but that doesn’t mean they can’t track you. Though it’s true that they cannot detect you visually, Eyeless Dogs can detect you by hearing. The noises you make will attract these large and aggressive predators, so your first line of defense is staying quiet. Crouch to make less noise and avoid drawing their attention if you want any chance of finding out whether the game ends.
One thing that players may not realize at first is that Eyeless Dogs can hear mic inputs too. That’s right: even if your character is motionless, if you talk to your friends, an Eyeless Dog can hear you. It’s a brilliant design decision because forcing real-world silence instantly increases immersion. It’s easy to forget this and make noise, however, especially in a party horror game like Lethal Company. If you’re outside in Eyeless Dog territory, always be aware of your noise output or risk the consequences.
Tips Against Eyeless Dogs
You’ll know when an Eyeless Dog has noticed a player because it will roar. It will then begin charging around the area searching for its prey. Even with their excellent hearing, Eyeless Dogs aren’t very accurate. You can avoid their charges if you pay attention to which direction they are facing. It’s vital that you do so because coming into contact with an Eyeless Dog means instant death, just like encountering a Jester. If one Eyeless Dog hears the roar of another, it will come investigate the noise.
You can use loud items such as the Boombox to attract Eyeless Dogs in order to clear them from certain areas. You can also use the Loud Horn to bait these monsters, but doing so guarantees that they will swarm your ship. If you aren’t able to close the doors fast enough, everyone on board will die, so you need to be strategic. Don’t panic, monitor your noise output, and you just might survive your encounter with Eyeless Dogs in Lethal Company.
