Palworld is a monster-collecting game where you can take your cute and cuddly pals and put them to work in harsh labor conditions. If you aren’t a benevolent boss and choose to push your pals to the limit, they’ll eventually gain sicknesses and ailments you’ll have to treat. Push them too hard, and your Palworld pals might even get depressed. To get your Pals out of a stupor and get them back to work, you’ll have to learn how to treat a depressed pal in Palworld.

Depression, like other ailments that derive from working in Palworld, can be treated by using medicine you craft from the medicine workbench. A medicine workbench will be necessary if you rely heavily on Pals (as you should) for your base, as they will often get sick or experience fractures that can impact their work. Depression is one of the more extreme states for your Pals to be in and happens when their sanity is too low.

Only one item in the game can cure depression: the High Grade Medical Supplies. This item is craftable through the Medieval Medicine Workbench, which unlocks at Level 12. The recipe to craft this item requires x5 Ingots, x5 Horns, and x2 Bones. Once you create one of these items, all you’ll need to do is feed it to the afflicted Pal.

To feed an actively working pal, you can walk up to them and press the “Command Pal” button. You can then mouse over the “Feed” button and select High Grade Medical Supplies. If the Pal is in your party, you can open your Inventory and pick the High Grade Medical Supplies. Following this, you should be able to select the afflicted Pal and cure them.

The Depression ailment occurs in Palworld when your Pals’ sanity is too low. Fortunately, keeping your Pals happy and healthy isn’t too difficult. You’ll just need to make sure that your Pals are properly fed. Be sure to have a feedbox active for your working Pals at all times to keep their sanity high. You won’t be able to simply rely on berries, as they will get sick if you do not include a larger variety of foods in their diet.

You should also make sure that each Pal in your base has a bed they can access. If your Pals do not get enough rest, they will lose energy and their sanity will plummet. Larger Pals require larger beds, but unfortunately, the beds designed for these large Pals aren’t unlocked until Level 36.

Finally, you can also craft a Hot Spring for your Pals to use during their breaks, which will help restore their sanity. The Hot Spring is the only recreational activity for your Pal, currently. Hopefully, future updates introduce more craftable additions to your base for Pals to enjoy.
