Fontaine is the new region added to Genshin Impact in the 4.0 update, and players want to know how to unlock and get to the new area. The region is surrounded by water and has a plethora of new characters for you to meet. Fontaine values and worships justice above all else. The region’s citizens worship Focalors, the Hydro Archon and the God of Justice. Fortunately, you can access Fontaine as soon you upgrade to version 4.0 of Genshin Impact. You still must complete a quest and trek across some waters to get to the region safely.
How Unlock Fontaine in Genshin Impact?
Fontaine will appear in the center of Tevyat after upgrading to version 4.0. However, the closes Teleport Waypoint to Fontaine will only unlock if you complete Archon Quest Prologue: Act Ill – Song of the Dragon and Freedom. You can only unlock that quest if you’re at an Adventure Rank 18. You must also have completed the For A Tomorrow Without Tears Archon Quest in Genshin Impact.
The first part of Song of the Dragon and Freedom has you head to a destination and defeat some enemies. You then head into the Stormterror’s Lair. Reach the roof of a tower, and break the seal in the lair by activating three Light Actuators.
Defeat Stormterror Dvalin to finish the main meat of the quest before heading out to talk to several characters, including Cyrus, Nimrod, Grace, Amber, and Barbara. The quest officially ends when you talk to Venti in Windrise.
After you finish the quest and upgrade to Genshin Impact 4.0, a Teleport Wayport will unlock on the northeast side of Farakhkert. The teleport will send you to the border between Sumeru and Fontaine, on a coast overloading Fontaine out in the waters.
How To Get to Fontaine in Genshin Impact
From where you teleported, go to the waters below and summon a Waverider to cross the oceans. Ride your way to the Romaritime Harbor, exit your Waverider, and head inside the building. Run up to the stairs to get into the elevator and ride up to the top of where the heart of Fontaine lies.
When you first reach the top from the elevator, you will spot a Melusine near the aqueducts. The Melusine is named Aeval, and she will take you on a tour through Fontaine with her aquabus. Her tour is valuable in giving you key information about the region. Once you’re deep in Fontaine, locate the nearest teleporter to have easy access to the region.
