There are many magic Spells that you can learn and use in the open-world Harry Potter game Hogwarts Legacy. From offensive, defensive, and even the deadly Unforgivable Curse Spells. This guide will tell you you can learn and unlock the wide-range offensive Spell Bombarda, also known as the Exploding Charm, in Hogwarts Legacy.
How to Unlock Bombarda in Hogwarts Legacy
To unlock the Exploding Charm and be able to cast Bombarda in Hogwarts Legacy, you have to first complete the “Professor Howin’s Assignment” side quest. The quest will become accessible after you have completed the second Trial, Charles Rookwood’s Trial, and turns the season to winter. This marks that you have arrived at the later parts of the game.
As you can expect, Professor Howin, the Beasts Class teacher, will be the one who gives you the side quest. You will need to complete these two objectives to clear the quest:
- Acquire a Diricawl with the nab-sack.
- Acquire a Giant Purple Toad with the nab-sack.
Simply use cast Disillusionment so they won’t see you, utilize Levioso on them, and then use the Nab-sack Spell to catch the beasts. It will take four Nab-sack casts to catch Diricawl and three for the Giant Purple Toad.
Diricawl Location
Diricawl nest can be found somewhere in the Hogwarts Valley, further south of the Feldcroft region, at the tip of the mountain range. Read more about it in our Diricawl Location guide.
Giant Purple Toad Location
Giant Purple Toad can be found in the South Sea Bog region or east of Hogwarts Castle for its den. Read more about it in our Giant Purple Toad Location guide.
After catching one of both species of magical creatures, head back to Professor Howin at the Beasts Class Classroom. She will teach you the Exploding Charm, Bombarda. With the spell, you can cast an area-of-effect firey explosion in battle, dealing damage to enemies surrounding you.
