Unlike Call of Duty where operators are nothing but cosmetics, XDefiant characters and factions play a major role in the gameplay. All characters are familiar faces from other Ubisoft game series like Splinter Cell and Far Cry, equipped with unique gear and abilities to utilize. However, not all these characters are available from the get-go in XDefiant and you’ll have to unlock them first. You didn’t expect the DedSec hackers to come fight for your cause without gaining their trust in XDefiant, right?

All Characters Unlock Challenges in XDefiant

XDefiant characters come with different unlock challenges. Not to call them the labours of Hercules, of course, but they might be time-consuming considering how often you get kills with a Firebomb or while wearing the Ghillie Suit.

CharactersChallenges
Kersey (The Division)Get 50 kills with Firebomb
Green (The Division)Get 50 kills with Incinerator Drone
Beto (Far Cry)Heal 5,000 health points to allies with BioVida Boost
Selete (Far Cry)Heal 5,000 health points to allies with El Remedio
Samir (Splinter Cell)Get 100 kills with Digital Ghillie Suit equipped
Rafa (Splinter Cell)Get 50 Intel Suit Spot assists
Rhino (Ghost Recon)Get 25 kills with Blitz Shield
Gorgon (Ghost Recon)Block 10,000 damage points with Mag Barrier

As you can see these challenges are easy to accomplish, and all you need to do is equip the right gear with the suitable character. Unlocking any of the characters shouldn’t take more than an hour of gameplay if you stick to the plan.

The only faction that doesn’t have separate character challenges is the DedSec. You can unlock the DedSec faction and characters by achieving 700,000 XP in XDefiant, which is an easy task by simply playing the game. Win matches and complete daily objectives to gain more XP.

Amir is an absolute Call of Duty nerd, preferring shooter games more than everything. However, he does like to do uppercuts in Mortal Kombat and feel the NOS going through the engines in Need For Speed games.
