When you start your journey through Talahm, you’ll only have two of the four playable outcasts, Karl and Galandra. However, it won’t take long for you to increase your roster, and the first fighter you’ll be able to recruit in Absolum is Cider. To convince them to join your team, you’ll need to encounter them first, go through a few runs, and then help them during a fight, but if you succeed in doing everything, you’ll have the most agile fighter inside your ranks.
How To Recruit Cider
To unlock Cider in Absolum, you need to go through a few runs during the first area until you encounter them, usually after the Goblin Village, where the broken bridge is. Once you see Cider, a conversation will happen, and the quest will officially begin.
Continue your run as usual, return to the hub, and start a new run. Here, Cider will wait for you at the starting area of the forest and will move through one of the two paths, usually the one in the middle. Follow them.

You’ll need to continue with your run until you see Cider fighting a bunch of enemies, help them, and make sure everyone makes it out alive.

After defeating all enemies, who are usually members of the Order, Cider will talk to you, mentioning how your hideout keeps calling them. At that point, Cider is ready to join you as another playable character in Absolum.

Continue with your run, and the next time you arrive at the sanctuary, you’ll see Cider in the starting area. They will have a quick conversation with Uchawi, and after that, you’ll be able to choose them as a playable outcast.
Compared to other quests, this is pretty hard to miss, as Cider will always guide you to the location you need to find them. Furthermore, the first area isn’t as challenging as the others, meaning that recruiting Cider won’t be too dangerous. However, if you’re struggling to bring them home, you can use some of the assist options to make the encounters much easier.
