West of Great Sky Island, you’ll encounter Jinodok Shrine in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom on the South Hyrule Sky Archipelago. Unlike the Shrine instances you completed during the earliest portion of your adventure, this Shrine challenge involves a puzzle. The Jinodok Shrine solution is relatively easy to figure out, but the challenge might stump adventurers less puzzle-savvy. Similar to the name of the subregion, the Shrine Quest connected to this Shrine is called “The South Hyrule Sky Crystal.”

To complete “The South Hyrule Sky Crystal” and unlock Jinodok Shrine in Tears of the Kingdom, let’s examine the Shrine Quest’s quest’s instructions. A mysterious voice will tell you to find a crystal connected to the Shrine’s beam of light. However, you’ll quickly notice the beam travels across a massive gap to another floating island. Hence, reaching that island is essential to the Jinodok Shrine solution.

Head north of the Shrine’s location, and you’ll notice a massive spherical mechanism. From the Hyrule Sky map’s perspective, the floating structure will resemble a two-sided battleaxe. You’ll goal is to position the instrument connected to the structure in such a way that creates a pathway to the crystal. Here are the steps you can follow to do so:

  1. Equip your Ultrahand and grab hold of the miniature device.
  2. Hold R to enter “Rotate Mode.”
  3. Using the D-pad, turn the structure vertically upward so that its walkways are flat, not pointing upwards or downwards.
  4. Next, horizontally turn the mechanism to the left using the D-pad Left Button.
  5. Continue turning until a right-angled pathway is formed between you and the island the Shrine’s beam is pointing to.

Inside the small ruin on the island, you’ll discover the crystal of Jinodok Shrine in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Lift it up and haul it back to where you initiated the “The South Hyrule Sky Crystal” Shrine Quest. The Shrine’s entrance will emerge, and you’ll be rewarded with a Treasure Chest and a Light of Blessing.

Before rotating the giant spinning mechanism, you might have noticed that a Treasure Chest was dangling from a vine on the right. To reach this chest, use your Ultrahand on the device again and flip it over, enabling the box to be atop one of the walkways. Use a Flint or Fire Fruit to burn away the vines wrapped around the container to acquire the loot.
