The December 2023 update, Fulminations in the Frost, added four fan-favorite monsters into the location-based hunting game. Zinogre, Barioth, Radobaan, and Banbaro are unlocked for Monster Hunter Now to celebrate the Christmas season. But half of them can only be hunted at specific times or locations. Now the question is, how can you locate and fight these mystical juggernauts throughout the winter festivities?
Monster Hunter Now: How to Unlock the December 2023 Update Monsters Including Zinogre
Radobaan, Banbaro, Barioth, and Zinogre will be unlocked once you’ve cleared out the December 2023 Monster Hunter Now “Fulminations in the Frost” Special Event quest chain. The first three monsters will show up randomly in the field just like the other monsters in the game. Nevertheless, Barioth and two winter small monsters, Wulg and Cortos, will be gone when Spring comes. Details of the “Fulminations in the Frost” Urgent Quest quest chain can be read in the tables below.
However, fans of the thunder wolf should prepare to be disappointed. While Zinogre can be fought in the Urgent Quest, the next time you see one is only during special events. One such event is the Zinogre’s Onslaught, which runs from December 15 until December 17, 2023. During this period, Zinogre will be guaranteed to appear as the last monster in any Hunt-a-thon Points.
Hunt-a-thons itself is a new Raid-like mechanic unlocked in Monster Hunter Now December 15 update. Occur at specific times, some Gathering Points around your area will be turned into Hunt-a-thon Points. There, you and fellow Hunters can hunt five large monsters in succession. But keep in mind that large monsters in Hunt-a-thons are stronger than the standard ones, so teaming up is encouraged!

How to Find Zinogre in Monster Hunter Now Zinogre’s Onslaught Event
As mentioned above, at the moment, Zinogre is only encountered while you’re in a Hunt-a-thon. During the Zinogre’s Onslaught Event, the Fulgurbug host will always show up as the fifth Hunt-a-thon monster. After the Monster Hunter Now 2023 event ends, Zinogre will appear as a random Hunt-a-thon monster.
Zinogre’s Onslaught runs from Friday, December 15, 2023, at 12:15 PM until Sunday, December 17, 2023, at 10:00 PM. All HR 11 and above Hunters can participate in Hunt-a-thons. There is a cooldown once you have finished one Hunt-a-thon. But by purchasing the Hunt-a-thon Ticket from the in-game store, you can instantly participate in another raid.
