How to Unlock Ray Gun in MWZ (MW3 Zombies)

If you’re looking for a powerful weapon to mow down the undead, the Ray Gun is one of the best in the Zombies mode of nearly all the Call of Duty titles. This gun was introduced on the first Zombies map called the Nacht Der Untoten, and it’s featured as a wonder weapon in MW3 Zombies mode. In fact, the new MWZ game mode lets you craft a Ray Gun yourself in MW3 Zombies! This means that you can unlock the schematic and have a Ray Gun in MWZ from the beginning of a match, allowing you to dominate the fight with the strongest weapon early in the game.

How To Find Ray Gun in MWZ

So, there are two options for reaching the Ray Gun in MWZ:

• Grabbing the weapon from the Mystery Box.
• Crafting Ray Gun with its schematic unlocked.

The first option is just testing your luck. Open Mystery Boxes as many times as you can, and the Ray Gun weapon will be yours eventually. However, if you want to craft this mighty ray shooter yourself, you’ll have to unlock it first.

If you choose one of the “+” icons you see on your gears and loadout menu, you’ll be directed through a new one. On the left, you’ll have the items you’ve gathered in previous games. And on the right, you’ll see all the perks and wonder weapons blueprints you can unlock. Ray Gun is sitting on the last tab of this menu in MWZ, and here’s how to get it.

Ray Gun Unlock Steps in MWZ

1. “Min-max” your loadout with ideal weapons and perks.
2. Try finishing contracts in the tier-one zone and gathering cash quickly.
3. Upgrade your weapon to level 1 with a Pack A Punch machine, and proceed through the next zone.
4. Once you have soda perks and level 3 weapons, start completing contracts.
5. To unlock Ray Gun, you must complete the contracts within the tier 3 high-threat zone in MWZ.
6. When you finish these contracts, you’ll then be rewarded with a rift that has items inside. There’s a high chance of getting the Ray Gun schematic in these rifts, and it’s currently the only way in MW3 Zombies – MWZ.
7. Picking HVT contracts in the high-level threat zone has a higher chance of rewarding you with a Ray Gun schematic in MWZ.

Now, remember that you might need to do all these steps in many matches until you get the Ray Gun schematic in MWZ. But each time you complete a contract in the high-threat zones, you’ll be rewarded with many other perks and ammo types schematics. In general, this is the most rewarding and the hardest journey in the MW3 Zombies mode, and it’s best if you complete it with two other teammates rather than solo.

You should also note that if you find the Ray Gun schematics in MWZ inside a rift, all your teammates will also be able to gain this reward. Once you have the blueprint in your backpack, you need to immediately leave the match with it to earn the Ray Gun for crafting.

How To Equip

1. Go to the loadout menu before starting the match.
2. Choose one of your empty slots in the gear section.
3. Go to the crafting menu on the right option.
4. Open the Wonder Weapons tab and select Ray Gun.
5. Empty one of your weapon slots before starting the match, and choose the Ray Gun from your backpack to equip it in MWZ.

You can use the Ray Gun for one match only, meaning you’ll still lose the weapon even if you exfil with it. However, since you have the schematic, you can follow the steps above and craft the gun as many times as you want every 48 hours.
