While there are some Shells in Mortal Shell 2 that focus on delivering some deadly punches, the best at doing that is none other than Smert. This Shell, which will take a while to get, excels at close combat, stopping time, and mowing down enemies at the cost of his HP, making him a high-risk, high-reward type of character. If you want to unlock him quickly, here’s a guide to show you where to find Smert in Mortal Shell 2.

Smert's Location

If you already got the clue to get Smert, then you’ll see that he is somewhere around the second area of the game, which is Mammon. Fortunately, finding him isn’t too complicated, as he is extremely close to the first beacon in Mammon, called Outskirts of Mammon. Once you teleport there, just make your way to the bridge, and you’ll eventually reach an area called Prophet’s Rest.

This area is easy to spot, as you’ll see a lot of enemies around some circles, performing some sort of ritual. All you need to do is defeat them, clear the area, and then interact with any of the circles.

You will get a prompt that says, “Make Blood Offering.” Do so, and your current Shell will disappear, leaving you in Harbinger mode. You will have to do this twice, so make sure to find some enemies to restore your Shell and sacrifice it again. Once that is done, just approach Smert, who is at an altar, and he will become playable.

Smert’s gimmick is using his bare fists to punch enemies. He will stop time and use his punches to mow down foes. However, each time he does this, his HP will go down quickly, meaning you need to be fast when attacking enemies.

Eventually, you will be able to upgrade this skill, which is extremely helpful for those who want to stay in Smert’s “punching state” for longer. And while we do think he is one of the best DPS Shells in the game, it takes a while to master, as you’ll be burning your HP to do damage. Yet, it is a pretty fun playstyle and one we recommend trying at least once.
