If you unlock the Peacekeeper Starfield weapon, you’ll save yourself a ton of ammo. This rifle is one of the game’s most powerful early weapons, capable of one-shot headshots on regular targets. You can unlock it by just doing a favor for a random captain in space. The mission is called the Ground Pounder in Starfield for getting the Peacekeeper rifle, and here’s how you can accomplish it as quickly as possible. Let’s get started!

Where To Find The Peacekeeper Starfield Weapon

To start the quest for unlocking the Peacekeeper rifle, you must have access to the Altair solar system first. This system is located on the northwest side of the Narion. And it’ll be easily unlocked by just playing through the main objectives. Now, once you’ve got access to this solar system, it’s time to start the Ground Pounder mission.

Go to the location above and find the Altair II planet. Set course on it and travel to this rock. Before landing, you’ll hear the residents asking for help as they are under attack by the spacers. Now, you can accept this mission to start helping the remaining soldiers. But remember, you need to bring your best weapons for a 30-minute gunfight.

You should also note that this mission won’t just show up in your objectives menu. Once you arrive at Altair II, the Ground Pounder mission will be added. Now let’s run the objectives one by one.

How to Complete The Ground Pounder Mission

Step One

You need to clear the base from all enemy targets. Remember to do a quick save here for further bugs in the mission, and then head inside the building to your right. Here, many enemy forces carry valuable loot for the taking. Kill them to proceed to Captain Myeong; she’s the one holding the Peacekeeper Starfield weapon for you.

Step Two

After you’ve cleared the main base, open the map and land on the Research Lab area in Altair II planet. Here, you’ll find a few more survivors that you need to rescue. Note that you have to travel a part of this section on foot.

Step Three

For the third part of your quest to unlock the mighty Peacekeeper Starfield weapon, you need to head back to Captain Myeong. She will tell you that the spacers are sending reinforcements from around the solar system. Then she’ll wish they had a ship to fight them, and well, you’ve got a starship to do so.

Step Four

You’ll get two objectives from the Captain for this step: clear the spacers’ ships from Altair V’s orbit and do the same on Altair I. This section requires some piloting techniques and dogfight skills as you have to fight three spaceships on each of the mentioned planet’s orbits. After you’ve done clearing them out, you’re ready for the final step.

Remember to loot the enemy starships after you’ve destroyed all of them. You might get some repairing parts in these loots, which are very useful during dog fights and space combat. You can recharge your starship’s health bar if you’ve got any repair parts in your ship’s inventory.

Step Five

The last objective for unlocking the Peacekeeper Starfield weapon is to head back to Altair II and clear out the base once more. The whole Ground Pounded Starfield mission is bland on its own but is worth the completion. The enemies will raid the base in a few waves, and you’ll have to clear them out each time.

There are many bugs in this mission, and one of them is the sudden respawning of the AI targets. Make sure to kill them all, even if they come back from the dead! After that, the Captain will have a good conversation with you, where you’ll be rewarded with credits and the Peacekeeper Starfield weapon.

Yes — if you shoot any of the ally NPCs in this mission, it’ll probably get stuck. To prevent this from happening, always keep an eye on the targets you see, and remember to not shoot any of the main objective NPCs. If you do so, you’ll have to restart the game from your recent saves manually.
