Hogwarts Legacy boasts a pleasing character creation. Not only can you design your avatar as you see fit physically, but you can also dress them in a host of different clothing items. You can purchase new gear by visiting Hogsmeade. Another sure way to discover new clothes is to find them in loot throughout the castle or gain them during a quest. When it comes to the Authentic Historian Robe, however, it is a secret clothing item you must unlock in Hogwarts Legacy. We will walk you through how you can gain this secret robe.
The Authentic Historian Robe is one of the few hidden gears available in the game. You must do the “Cache in the Castle” sidequest to access this. This sidequest is available once you get an Owl Post from Professor Fig about “The Locket’s Secret” main questline.
However, we want to focus on the Hogwarts Legacy sidequest, as this will unlock the secret Authentic Historian Robe for you.
Follow along with the steps below to get it:
- View the Owl Post from Professor Fig and head to The Astronomy Wing
- Find Arthur Plumley near the left of the stairs around the Charms Classroom Floo Flame
- Interact with Arthur and view his map to see the landmark images you have to visit
- Unlock the painting’s secret
Secret Authentic Historian Robe Part 1
As we mentioned, you must receive the Owl Post from Professor Fig before you can unlock the sidequest associated with the Authentic Historian Robe.
Once you view the Owl Post, head to The Astronomy Wing to get started on the quest.
Secret Authentic Historian Robe in Hogwarts Legacy Part 2
The best way to reach The Astronomy Wing so you can get a jump on the sidequest is to fast travel to the Charms Classroom. So, it helps if you have already unlocked that Floo Flame.
If you fast-travel, you can simply head down the stairs and look to the left to see Arthur Plumley. But you need to go there by noon if you want to catch him.
Secret Authentic Historian Robe Part 3
Once you speak to Arthur, he will show you his map that features images of landmarks on them. Now, you’re ready to go on a quest to discover all three landmarks. You don’t have to do anything here but walk up to each landmark to make it count.
Landmark 1: From your location with Arthur, go downstairs about three levels until you make it to the main hall. From there, you will go down another staircase to your left, where you will see the rhinoceros skeleton.
Landmark 2: Descend the stairs from the rhinoceros skeleton until you exit the doors and enter the Transfiguration Courtyard. In the middle of the Courtyard is the fountain landmark.
Landmark 3: Head to the door that is beyond the large tree in the Courtyard. Head straight and to the right to ascend the staircases. You’ll soon reach a painting of a house in the snow at night.
Now, you’re closer to unlocking the secret Authentic Historian Robe in Hogwarts Legacy.
Secret Authentic Historian Robe Part 4
On the painting, you want to perform the Accio spell. This will open a secret doorway that leads to a chest. Open the chest, and you have officially accessed the secret Authentic Historian Robe and can proudly wear it in Hogwarts Legacy.
You can always head back to Arthur to wrap up his sidequest, but the above is all you need to do to access the Robe.
