Phasmophobia latest Ascension update has introduced several new features such as Legacy Badges. It has also introduced new changes to the Spirit Box, allowing you to communicate with ghosts in new ways. The latest updates make it easier to communicate and gives you some tiers that help make future runs easier. While all the updates are certainly convenient, you want to know how the Spirit Box makes things easier for you. Are there any new ways to use the Spirit Box? What changes have been made to improve gameplay? Here’s what you need to know about the new Spirit Box in Phasmophobia’s Ascension update.

Unlike the old version, Phasmophobia’s new Spirit Box comes with three tiers. You unlock these tiers as you play, using the money gained in each run to purchase new equipment. Here is each tier and the effect they have:

  • Tier 1: The audio in the Spirit Box doesn’t work too well. The ghost doesn’t clearly hear your questions and your replies won’t be too clear either. It will require good listening and speaking skills to make the most of this tier.
  • Tier 2: This is the original Spirit Box you used before the Ascension update. There’s a screen that helps you read the responses and it’s not too hard to make out what the ghost says. If you play lots of Phasmophobia, this tier will be the one that feels the most familiar.
  • Tier 3: This is the best representation of the new Spirit Box in Phasmophobia. There’s a noise filter added to the Spirit Box which helps you hone in on the sounds. It’s also more likely to pick up on ghost responses than in previous tiers and it’s easier to understand what they are saying.

Even though the Spirit Box has new changes, you still need other equipment and good cooperation to catch your ghost. Don’t forget to upgrade the other items through the store and improve them. That will ensure you are ready to tackle the ghosts quickly or help out other players working with low-tier equipment. You must ask the right questions and ensure you get enough information to know how to bust the ghost. The new Spirit Box in Phasmophobia will take some time to unlock, but it is definitely worth the effort.
