Games that have a day and night cycle also tend to give players the option to wait and pass their time. Whether you’re wading through the waters of whatever planet you’re on or trying to visit as many planets as you canย in Starfield, there’s always going to be a moment when you need to stop and pass the time. Considering this, if you don’t already know how to do it, we’ll show you how to wait and pass time in Starfield below.

If you want to pass the time and wait in Starfield, you will need to interact with a bed by pressing the A buttonย on your Xbox controller or theย left mouse button on your mouse. Once you do this, you will get a popup window that asks you how long you would like to wait. Waiting can do a number of positive things for you so that you can be a better explorer after you’re ready to keep going. For starters, resting gives the vendors an opportunity to restock their wares so that you can swoop in and buy in immeasurable amount of items using the thousands of Credits you managed to get by doing random quests and odd jobs.

These vendors will also not only stock up on items for you to buy, but they will also stock up on Credits that they can spend for you to be able to sell the thousands of random things you have in your pockets that also help fuel the immeasurable amount of items that we discussed before. If you happen to sleep for long enough, then you can also rely on sleep to help heal you of specific ailments as well as generally heal you. You’ll also be able to rest on any unclaimed benches that you pass by. Of course, it seems a little bit more suspicious to the average person if you spend several hours sitting on a bench without doing anything rather than if you were sleeping in a bed, but it seems as though the people in the world of Starfield don’t seem to mind.

It should also probably be a red flag for folks to see someone resting a bed for 15 hours without going to check that they aren’t dead but to each their own.
