This article is over 1 years old and may contain outdated information.

In shooters like Ready or Not, it’s a given that you’ll customize your gear. Placing add-ons to your weapons, enhancing them or giving them new stats, is always fun. However, the looks of your character can matter just as much. Despite all the gear you have on, sometimes the simplest of items stand out the most. And that is the balaclava. At the moment, there’s no way to wear a balaclava in Ready or Not without the use of a mod.

Modding Ready or Not For a Balaclava

As we mentioned, the only way to wear a balaclava is to mod Ready or Not. Of course, the game can always update in the future to add them in naturally. Until then, we’ll guide you through how to add the mod to your game. When you do add it, all of the SWAT members will don the mask.

  1. Head to Nexus Mods to find the Balaclava Addition mod by Ballistic.
  2. Be sure you have an account for the site and log in as it’s the only way you can download mods.
  3. You can use either download and install Mod Manager to add the mod to your game or you can manually download the mod.
  4. For manual installation of the balaclava mod in Ready or Not, take the following steps:
    • Have a program like Winrar to extract the downloaded mod file if needed
    • Go to your Steam library, right-click Ready or Not, and select Manage
    • Click on Browse Local Files and go to these areas: Ready or Not > Content > Pak folder
    • If you don’t see it, create a folder labeled Pak
    • Copy and paste your extracted mod file into the Pak folder
  5. Restart your game, and when you load in, you should see the balaclava customization option

The modded balaclava for Ready or Not features black and tan colors. It’s designed to work with the helmet, so to see the best results, be sure to have your helmet on. You can find the customization option under the Eyewear section.

Like with any mods, there’s always a chance for clipping. Be on the lookout for updates to the mod as well as updates that may add the balaclava into the base game sometime down the road. Until then, feel free to enjoy looking as mysterious and ready for action as you do with the balaclava in Ready or Not.
