The excitement is real. During Honkai: Star Rail 2.7 Special Program, HoYoverse gave us a teaser to what seems to be the cast of characters coming to 3.0 and beyond. Known only as the Amphoreus’ Saga of Heroes, this short video showcases the people we’ll likely meet once the next big version arrives. However, one can only wonder, “Will they be playable, or will they meet the same fate as the Ever-Flame Mansion?” For the unaware, before our stop in Penacony, HoYoverse also teased a group of over-the-top, most likely-to-be villains but never arrived at the game. Well, one did, but in the shape of a relic set.
Among the members that will likely come to Amphoreus, the Eternal Land, we have Aglaea, the first confirmed Remembrance character, Tribbie, Anaxa, Hyacine, Mydei, Cipher, Castorice, and Phainon. With how the internet is blowing up after looking at them, it would be criminal if they were not playable in Honkai: Star Rail 3.0; still, some are nervous about seeing these characters disappearing, like Duke Inferno’s crew.
Personally, I’m not too afraid. Since the teaser launched during a Special Program, it seems this roster will play a huge part in the upcoming story. Plus, many Travelers with keen eyes have already spotted similarities between these characters and those in Honkai Impact, such as Phainon looking a lot like Kevin. However, that’s just fan speculation (and a personal wild theory I have), but it’d be great to see what’s in store.
The Crew Is Finally Ready to Leave Penacony
While the 3.0 characters seem to be a bit far away for now, Honkai: Star Rail 2.7 is bringing a lot of new things to the table. First and foremost, Sunday and Tingyun (Fugue) are coming to the next version. Alongside them, we’ll get what seems to be a new Astral Express decoration mini-game and what looks like a bath for our characters. That latter was more than necessary as both Stelle and Caelus go dumpster-diving more often than not.
And if that wasn’t enough, Honkai: Star Rail will also give players one free 5-star character from the permanent banner, which features Himeko, Bailu, Bronya, Clara, Yanqing, Welt, and Gepard. In my opinion, getting another Bronya is always a good idea, as she’s the future-proof buffer, but building a stronger Himeko is also great for Pure Fiction.
Rewards aside, we can all agree that Honkai: Star Rail is just about to get better. We can all remember how big Penacony’s launch was, and if HSR‘s track record continues, we’re in for another terrific adventure. Again, we only hope that the characters we just saw become playable because with them, the return of Sunday and Tingyun, and the reveal of The Herta, we’ll have a lot of reasons to keep spending our hard-earned Stellar Jade.
