Hugh Jackman Skin Cancer Scare
Australian actor Hugh Jackman has opened up to the public about his health. On Monday, the Wolverine star took to his Instagram account to share details of his health with his teeming fans.
In the video, the 54-year-old actor had a bandage on his nose, indicating the procedure he had just gone through. The actor explained that his doctor had noticed “little things” that could be a basal cell carcinoma.
“I wanted you to hear it from me just in case someone sees me on the street or whatever,” he said.
“I’ve just had two biopsies done,” he continued. “I just went to my doctor, and she just saw the little things that could be or could not be basal cells; in her opinion, she doesn’t know,” he explained.
According to the Mayo Clinic, basal cell carcinoma is a type of skin cancer that occurs most often in areas of the skin exposed to the sun, such as your head and neck.
Hugh Jackman Warns Fans About Skin Cancer
Since having his first cancer removed in 2013, the Wolverine star has been vocal about using sunscreen. Similarly, the actor hammered on sunscreen use in the video, announcing his recent scare again.
He stressed the importance of protecting the skin from the sun’s harmful rays as summer approaches.
“However,” he said, “if I can just take this opportunity to remind you summer is coming for those of us in the northern hemisphere, please wear sunscreen. It is just not worth it. No matter how much you want a tan, trust me,” he pleaded with his Instagram audience.
Hugh Jackman has been battling on and off with skin cancer since he was first diagnosed in 2013. Hopefully, the outcome of the actor’s biopsy will bring positive news.
