Devolver Digital has announced that the previously planned release window for Human Fall Flat 2 has been delayed to 2026. The confirmation comes from the publisher’s newly published annual financial report that went public today, April 18, 2024.
Human Fall Flat 2 was initially slated for release sometime in 2025, but it seems even that was going to be hard to achieve. According to the financial report, the developers are excited about the future of the series, are hard at work on the game, and plan on releasing an “even stronger” title in 2026.
The original game was developed by No Brake Games and published by Curve Digital. Although No Brake Games is still developing the sequel, it will be published by Devolver Digital.
Devolver Digital Has Announced the Delay of Human Fall Flat 2 to 2026
Upon release in 2016, Human Fall Flat was a sleeper hit on PC, consoles, and mobile as well. Up to the end of 2023, the game has sold over 50 million copies according to the developers. The sequel was then announced in the Devolver Direct in June 2023.
The Human Fall Flat 2 trailer sets up the much-improved sequel and promises new levels, customizable characters, and even better real-time physics. The puzzles will be harder, and the devices you will use to solve said puzzles will get new additions as well.
An entirely new physics engine will be used in the sequel that will enable new gameplay interactions and mechanics and make sure that no two players have the same experience. Being a full-on sequel, the game’s audio design and controls are being refined as well.
You will be able to play Human Fall Flat 2 with up to 8 friends in coop mode once it comes out in 2026 on Windows only for now, with console releases likely following soon.
