A woman in Chicago, Illinois, says she experienced the worst date of her life after going out with a man who seemed like a perfectly good match on paper but turned out to be very different in person. She recorded portions of their disastrous dinner and shared the video on TikTok. The video has now gone viral and has left people on the internet somewhere between horrified and entertained by what the woman endured.
The woman said she went into the date with fairly high hopes after the man was recommended by a friend. According to her, he was a head coach with a bachelor’s degree, so she had little reason to expect the disaster that awaited her.
Judging from the video she posted, her expectations couldn’t have been further from reality.
The woman claimed that the man showed up very drunk and only said one word to her throughout the dinner date — “Really?” When the food arrived, the man didn’t bother with utensils and used his bare hands to eat his meal.
It wasn’t until she asked him to use his silverware because she was embarrassed that he finally did, or at least tried. In the video, he seemed to be struggling to hold the utensils properly.
But by then, the dinner had already become quite the spectacle. Food from his plate was scattered across the table. Some of it had even gotten into the man’s dreadlocks, according to the woman.
Then came the grand finale. Before the end of their date, the man slumped against the booth and appeared to pass out at the table.
Netizens Couldn’t Believe the Date Got This Bad
The video of the woman’s disastrous outing has garnered over 700,000 views on TikTok. In the comments, one person asked, “My God where did you find him?” Someone else joked, “This is the worst date of MY life and I wasn’t even there.”
A third couldn’t stomach much more of it, writing, “Girl I don’t even wanna finish this video, I am disgusted.” A fourth commented, “A grown man on the first date drunk like that would pmo so bad.”
Some viewers even wondered whether the man had deliberately acted badly because he wasn’t interested in his date.
“If this is real…i think he was doing anything to turn you off bc he was uninterested,” one commenter speculated. Another agreed, writing, “He did that in [sic] purpose they never just say they not interested they start doing weird passive [things] like this so you can look like the bad guy.”
Others couldn’t understand why the woman stuck around long enough to see how the evening ended. “I would have excused myself and went to the bathroom at MY HOUSE,” one netizen joked. Another asked, “Why didn’t you leave immediately when he started eating the salad with his hands?”
The woman’s answer in the comments was perhaps the funniest part of the entire ordeal. “That steak was too good to leave,” she replied.
She did eventually make her exit. The woman revealed that the police were called to the restaurant and she left as soon as they arrived. However, she didn’t stick around to find out what happened to her date afterward.
And for anyone wondering whether there would be a second date, that possibility appears to have been taken off the table entirely. She says she has since added him to her blocked list.
