What should have been a routine career presentation took an uncomfortable turn at a high school in Kentucky after a student used his time to openly praise ICE and make remarks that targeted a specific racial group.
In a TikTok video, a student whose face was blurred could be seen giving a classroom presentation about his desire to become an ICE agent in the future. He began by outlining what he described as the job’s schedule, claiming that ICE agents work 24/7 and ensure there are no “illegals” in the country.
“I have a fun fact,” he said, framing the topic as entertaining to him, though likely not to others. “So this year and last year have been the most deportations in America,” he continued. At that point, a voice in the background interjected, “I don’t think we’ve deported anybody for a long time before that.”
The student agreed and went on to claim that people come in to vote for Trump and that once he’s in power, “he sends them back out.” He also mentioned that ICE agents make around $40,000 a year but insisted that his passion for the job outweighed the pay, saying he would do it for free.
As the presentation continued, he repeatedly emphasized how much he admired ICE, scanning the classroom as he spoke. “They don’t pay taxes,” he said of other races, presenting it as one of his main reasons for wanting to join the agency. He then added, “Fun facts: most illegals are Hispanic or Mexican, and they come from America for drug trafficking,” while the teacher could be heard asking follow-up questions.
“They’ll deport you; it’s like they don’t support you,” he said again, reiterating that ICE doesn’t care before once more affirming his desire to become an agent.
The caption on the video read, “He is such a clown.” The person who posted the clip explained that throughout the presentation, the student repeatedly looked directly at her. She noted that she and one other girl were the only Hispanic students in the class and that he appeared fully aware of that as he spoke.
Student’s Pro-ICE Presentation Sparks Backlash
The comment section quickly filled with outrage. “Girl, I would’ve made a scene,” one person wrote.
Another commenter offered sympathy, writing, “I’m sorry that you had to experience that. I can only imagine the rage you felt if I’m feeling it through a screen. I’m glad you spoke up and made it known you were uncomfortable!” Someone else exclaimed, “That teacher needs to be fired.” A user pointed out his arrogant behavior, writing, “The constantly looking around for validation…so disgusting and embarrassing.” Another questioned the authority in the room, asking, “How did the teacher even allow that?!”
