An ICE agent found himself in an unlucky race after possibly injuring his leg while chasing a handcuffed detainee through the streets of Uptown Whittier, California. A TikTok video captured the intense, chaotic moment. In the clip, two ICE agents could be seen sprinting after a man in handcuffs, who appeared to have broken free from custody.
The chase drew the attention of bystanders, some of whom recorded the scene from a distance while cheering the unfolding drama. The pursuit quickly turned disastrous for one of the agents. As the video continued, the agent suddenly stumbled, visibly struggling to keep up. His pace slowed as he appeared to grab at his leg, limping heavily while his partner kept up the chase. Someone behind the camera could be heard shouting, “Keep going!” as if rooting for the detainee rather than an officer in distress.
In a second video shared from another angle, the situation looked even worse. The agent could be seen crashing hard to the ground before trying to pull himself back up. Despite the clear pain, he refused to quit, hobbling forward in a determined but awkward limp as his injured leg gave him away. Little to no empathy surfaced in the comments section, as netizens reacted without restraint.
“He better put some ICE on that,” one user wrote sarcastically. Another mocked, “That’s what happens when most of the agents are fat, out-of-shape incels whose only qualification for the job is hating minorities.” This Redditor joked, “The ground came out of nowhere! He was assaulted by the asphalt!” while someone noted, “If he really did tear his ACL, that was probably the cause of the fall, not the other way around.”
Commenters didn’t hold back in mocking ICE’s physical form, writing, “These guys wear so much tactical cosplay gear. Out of shape and overloaded. I’ve yet to see one video where they actually catch someone; they always give up.” Another teased, “Walk it off, tough guy! He’s walking like he’s got a load in his pants😁.” One commenter quipped, “Looks like a nasty case of plantar fascist-itis,” while another added, “Kristi Noem is going to try and get that road arrested for interference.”
And one summed it up with biting humor, “His $50K hiring bonus now going entirely to medical bills. Hope he didn’t spend it all already.” As of now, it remains unclear whether the fall was in vain or if the agents eventually caught the detainee.
