ICE agents stop at nothing to arrest anyone who raises suspicion. In modern-day America, that includes practically anything from skin color to a person’s accent. In North Carolina, a Charlotte flower shop owner became the most recent target. As she tried to evade agents, she was chased into nearby woods, with a band of locals right behind her.
In the video, posted on Reddit by @psych0kineses, you can see ICE agents in pursuit of the flower shop owner. In an effort to detain her, they follow her into the woods. As the camera pans, you can hear locals shouting at the agents, telling them to “get out,” while they record the entire event. As locals continue screaming and forcing the ICE agents deeper into the woods, they begin backtracking.
Despite threats from the agents, the locals pressed on until the agents had their backs against a wall–literally. The camera pans again to show one local with a camera and another blowing a whistle to amplify the crowd’s noise. As the video ends, ICE agents are seen getting back into their black SUV before driving away, leaving the crowd of brave locals behind.
Those watching the video have praised the efforts of Charlotte locals, with one saying, “ICE is causing more terror and hardships than a flower shop owner ever did.” Another shared their support, saying, “I love it. That is what America was getting to, bringing us all together as one nation. We are almost losing that battle by going backwards in time. But I have also observed a mix of races battling Ice in their neighborhoods. Love my brothers and sisters out there.”
Some also commented on the morality of ICE’s raids. “I legit don’t think MAGA A-holes understand that this will haunt them forever. I’d legit never date or be friends with someone who voted for Trump. Even in 10 years. Because it’s such a clear sign that they are either morons or monsters. No thanks,” says one Reddit user.
