A tense standoff unfolded in Pasadena, Texas, after ICE agents went to extreme lengths to detain three men, breaking cameras, damaging property, and even threatening to fire tear gas into a home filled with children. A video posted on Reddit captured parts of the chaotic scene. In the footage, a visibly emotional woman stood surrounded by reporters, trying to explain what happened.
While fighting back tears, she said ICE took her brother-in-law, another family, and her neighbor. According to her, the men had left their homes early that morning, around 5 a.m., for work. While at a gas station, they were being followed by ICE and decided to return home.
“At one point, they broke the house camera,” the reporter continued as footage showed a shattered security camera hanging from its wires. The agents allegedly tried to break into the home, smashing a window in the process, but couldn’t fully enter because they were unable to remove the air-conditioning unit blocking the way. The woman, who witnessed everything and had her young child inside, spoke to the press, describing how the ICE agents refused to present a warrant but threatened to fire tear gas into the home if the men didn’t surrender. Fearing for the safety of the children inside, the men eventually came out voluntarily.
Reporters on the scene said they had reached out to ICE for an official statement but had not received a response as of the time of reporting. Online outrage was swift and loud as netizens stormed the comments section. “I believe the term you are looking for is siege. They laid siege to their home,” one commenter wrote, pointing out the aggressive tactics used. Others noted the lack of transparency. “If these agents had a legitimate warrant, they would have entered immediately. Instead, they used coercive tactics to lure the men outside,” this user wrote.
Many also questioned the legality of ICE’s actions compared to local law enforcement. “The local police can’t vandalize homes, cut off utilities, or threaten suspected murderers without a warrant, but the federal government can do all that and still claim it’s not a violation of the Constitution? C’mon, you small government, personal freedom pretend you are still conservatives and not just MAGA.”
Others warned that such reckless operations could easily spiral into violence. “It’s only a matter of time before they conduct an illegal, warrantless raid on someone’s home and a firefight ensues. I simply cannot understand why your local and country police aren’t taking a stand in the face of these events.” Another added sharply, “Terror and cruelty is the point.”
