So you’re in your home, you hear excitement in the streets, and you go to check it out. Turns out ICE is in your Minnesota neighborhood, and people are honking their horns, and protesting their presence. You might even honk a few times yourself. But then what do you do if ICE decides to pull you over with a weapon? One Minnesota woman shares her TikTok experience and a video of her confrontation with an ICE agent.
TikToker Catmom214, Emily, shares in a video telling people to “be safe, be brave, and stay angry.” The reason? She’d be pulled over by ICE, and claimed ICE pulled a gun on her. It all started that morning outside an apartment complex near her home. When she heard cars honking, she saw cars outside “following ICE agents,” who’d been “patrolling the complex.” The honking was to alert the neighborhood of ICE’s presence.
Emily admits she joined in. On her way home, she claims an ICE agent followed her. “This man was brake checking me. He was stopping in the middle of the road. He was trying to cause an accident,” Emily says. According to her, he even made a U-turn to catch up with her when they went in separate directions at an intersection.
As Emily pulls into her neighborhood with the agent behind her, she pulls over. To her surprise, he pulled up next to her. Emily says the ICE agent had a firearm pointed at her and told her to stop following him.
On Emily’s TikTok, she has a video of the confrontation, which starts with a very angry ICE agent threatening her. “Follow me again, I’m gonna lock you up,” the ICE agent says. Apparently, he doesn’t care if she’s an American citizen, either. When Emily tells him he’s American, he responds by stating: “I don’t care what you are.”
Emily argues she was trying to do that, “You’re following me now, babe.” The agent turns back and tells her she only gets one warning. Before the ICE agent gets in his car, Emily calls him a “piece of [expletive]” and to pull up his pants.
By the end, Emily states ICE doesn’t care if you’re white, black, brown, American, or an immigrant. And, more importantly, “They don’t care if you voted for Donald Trump.”
One commenter explained, “It is not illegal to honk and yell at ICE agents.” In the replies, one person said, “I’m pretty sure we’re at the point where what’s legal and illegal is irrelevant.” And that’s the scariest part about it.
