An alarming incident of alleged police brutality in the state of Idaho has recently been making rounds online. The incident pertains to a man who successfully survived his brain tumor, only to be rendered disabled by cops after they violently arrested him for what they assumed to be a DUI– only, it wasn’t, as the man claimed he was having a seizure while driving. Now, he’s looking to press charges in an upcoming expensive lawsuit. Graphic image warning:
The incident was reported and posted to Reddit by the victim himself, who goes by louiegumba. louiegumba notably had a blastoma or malignant tumor in his brain and was saved by a specialist doctor in the US. The problem was, he seemed to have experienced seizures before the brain tumor was discovered, and one seizure picked the worst moment to happen since louiegumba was driving.
It’s not clear whether the louiegumba crashed or managed to pull over during his seizure, but according to the Idaho man, the police chose to arrest him, pinning him down to the concrete and aiming 4-5 guns at his head. Apparently, this violent arrest broke louiegumba’s back, specifically four vertebrae in his spine, rendering him disabled. His charges from the police were a DUI (driving under the influence) and resisting arrest among others.
“The cops chose to charge me with a dui, resisting arrest, resisting evidence seizure, etc after I told them I was I capacitated (I remember very little), they pulled 4-5 guns on the back of my head and threw me into hot concrete and ground my head into the heat and I am now disabled with 4 broken vertebrae for .. ever?” claims louiegumba
Thankfully, the Idaho man survived both the alleged police brutality and his brain tumor and is now reviewing his options for lawsuits as he wants to leave some help for his children. According to the Idaho man, several “million-dollar lawyers” have been calling him to help him with the lawsuit against the police. It’s not clear yet when he plans to follow through with the lawsuit.
ACAB Sentiments Flowed in Like a River
The Idaho man certainly plans to sue and is even considering taking the case to a federal court with the help of some friends in high places. Due to the rather horrific allegations from the Idaho man, the people online who have seen his story were enraged at the police who made him suffer further.
“‘Quick shoot this person theyโre having a health crisis’ ACAB (all cops are bastards),” according to CHEONFK
“One of the worst things for people is to be having a medical emergency near a cop. Even when cops recognize that you are having Grand Mal Seizures they will assume you OD’d on drugs and arrest you anyhow. usually with violence when no violence was warranted,” explains Myte342
“Holy sh*t…I want to say so much. Those cops deserve the absolute fucking worst, far worse than what the law can give them,” rants TheAzureAzazel
Others have recalled their own nightmarish encounters with law enforcement while having a medical emergency. People who have also experienced grand mal seizures had similar stories where cops also assumed it was a DUI and failed to respond appropriately. Some cases even involved a person being beaten by cops while having a stroke, leading to further negative sentiments about law enforcement.
“Im a neurologist. Had a patient get the sh&t beaten out of them by cops after crashing their car because of a major stroke. Sh*t is fucked what these cops will do. Im sorry,” recalls Bubonic_Ferret
