A woman in Idaho who was hospitalized after developing sepsis says her husband was nowhere to be found while she underwent emergency surgery, claiming that he chose to be with another woman instead of supporting her during the medical crisis. While lying in a hospital bed recovering from surgery, she shared her experience in a TikTok video.
According to the woman, she and her husband have been married for nearly four years and share two young children. Although she acknowledged that the marriage has had its fair share of ups and downs, she said she always believed that even during difficult periods, both partners should still show up for each other when it comes to health. “I’m the type of person that will go take care of you when you’re sick,” she said. “Even if you’re treating me like garbage, I’m still gonna go over there and take care of you because I know that you need to be taken care of.”
However, the woman claims that her husband did not share that same sense of responsibility because despite the seriousness of her condition, he never came to the hospital to check up on her. She said she had been admitted for nearly three days without a visit from him or even reassurance that he planned to come. What makes it even more disheartening for her is that when she later told him that she could have died from the illness, he allegedly responded, “Well, at least you didn’t die.”
‘I Deserve Better Than That’
The woman revealed that she had to call someone else to take her to the emergency room because her husband found it “inconvenient” to do so. “It’s embarrassing. It makes me angry and sad because I deserve better than that,” she said. “But instead, you’re out gallivanting with another woman.”
She also added that she and her husband had been trying to work on their marriage, but following this incident, she is now reevaluating everything. “That’s not good for me,” she said. “I should have somebody here that loves me and respects me and supports me in a time of need.”
Netizens’ Reactions to the Idaho Woman’s Story
In the comments, netizens urged the woman to prioritize her wellbeing and leave the relationship, saying the situation spoke for itself. “Sepsis is serious, a lot of people don’t survive it!” one commenter wrote. “If you needed a sign to leave, this is it,” another person said. A third added, “Babe, at this point, not only is he NOT your partner, he’s not even your friend. Get out of that situation before it drains you of everything that makes you glow.”
Someone else suggested that she should not return home but instead file for divorce and “talk to a social worker.” Another viewer also chimed in, “This is the part of the vows on sickness and in health. He’s not there. He broke the vows. Time to leave.”
