Earlier today indie developer Chevy Ray Johnston posted an update regarding the upcomingย Turn-Based RPG, Ikenfell. Unfortunately, that update was that Ikenfell has been delayed until 2019.
Johnston stated there are a lot of reasons for the delay: medical emergencies, calendar clashes with collaborators, unforeseen pressures from running a team and coding/animating/writing at the same time, overestimating my own abilities, and other production changes that I can’t announce yet, amongst other things.
Ikenfell was originally slated to release in June of 2018, published by Humble Bundle.
The update does come with some interesting news though. Johnston revealed that Ikenfellย already has over 15 hrs of story and gameplay, insisting that it is very far along.
“[Ikenfell] already has aroundย 15ย hours of story and gameplay,ย with some exciting revelations, nearly a dozen challenging boss fights, and a myriad of places to visit and puzzles to solve,” Johnston wrote on Kickstarter. “I’m predicting around ~20 hours of solid gameplay when it is complete, with as little padding as I am able to muster (I don’t like padding in my games much).”
Ikenfell was one of the 44 indie games (Part 1, Part 2) currently in development that we here at The Nerd Stash cannot wait to come out!
