There are many reasons to be afraid to step out into the world nowadays, and they’re all justified. Unfortunately, a majority of the people who are too scared to step out of their homes are women because of the unbridled disrespect they receive on an almost daily basis. At least, that’s how one Illinois woman felt after being verbally threatened by a man while she was waiting for a tow truck.
What’s even worse isn’t just that the woman was threatened, but it’s how she was threatened that’s truly terrifying. This is the kind of video that makes you want to really pay attention to your surroundings the next time you go out.
The video in question was posted to the TikTok account @samminotsweetheart, which belongs to a woman named Sam. According to the video’s caption, Sam was sitting inside her car while waiting for a tow truck. However, while she was waiting, a man approached her and exchanged a few words before allegedly “grabbing his junk saying “f you” to me.“
After that interaction, Sam decided to start filming, but what the man says as soon as the camera begins recording is truly terrifying. You can quite literally hear the man say, “Little lady, I’d watch my mouth because I bury girls like you out in the desert.” Who on Earth actually says something like that to a person in public? Fortunately, as he said this, he walked toward a vehicle with the company name clearly printed on the side: Barr & Miles Inc.
What’s even more fortunate is that the man was reportedly fired from his position within the company after the video began circulating. However, this happened after Sam had allegedly tried contacting them numerous times.
Illinois Man Threatens Woman Waiting for Tow Truck
Commenters on the video were absolutely shocked at the man’s words, with one person plainly saying, “Ummm did he just threaten your life and admit to crimes in one sentence???” Others called for the company that employs him to be contacted and informed about his activities when he’s not in the office.
According to one comment, he was let go from his job after the video went viral, saying, “UPDATE:: Barr and Miles says they are a small family owned business and he was FIRED at 0700 this am….. He says that’s not ok in 2026. I recommend that they investigate this driver and he agreed!! THANK YOU BARR AND MILES!! 🙏🙏🙏” It’s a good thing that action was taken before something like this can happen again on company time.
It’s honestly incredibly terrifying to be in this situation, and I can only hope that Sam can feel safe the next time she goes out in public.
